I would really be interested in such a low end card for gaming Hearthstone and streaming via Steam's in home streaming. I am not fully aware of what streaming needs tbh, but I'd really like to see a passively cooled version of this (like 750Ti).

If it overclock as the 950 it is a very good replacement for the 750 line of card. *edit* and they can rename the 750 in 940 lol

There is already 950 and 950ti, does it really needs another 950 se? They shoud've just reduced the prices.

I thought the 950 ti was speculation?

they better get something going in the 259 price range the 96o is just meh. instead they should focus on a 960ti type card that's as fast as a 970 for 250ish even if it only has 3.5g(ha ha)they milked out the 970/980 long enough to do this.

You are right, it exists only on paper. Maybe we wont see 950ti at all. 896sp is just to close to 960. Even a 768sp 950 performs sometimes similiar to 960.

as there is no basic 950 (all are factory OC) and all are highly overclockable it is already at 960 performance level... the 950ti is yet not too attractive i don't know if they will release it... the 950se is more price/performance attractive looking at spec

I wouldn't mind this card for $79.99 USD.

For Hearthstone? Hearthstone can run on an Atom, streaming can be done on an Atom. I've done both on a Surface 3. A 950 level card is way overkill.

Hope its not a GTX750Ti rebranding.

Requiring a PCI-E 6-pin patch would badly damage the purpose … And the 745 remains the best single-slot card, too.

Thats gonna be hella hard. If theres really a bigger difference between the 750ti and the true maxwell 900 series then maybe. If we'd count them having the same architecture then the 750ti basically is the 950 SE/ti. The 950 has 768 cuda cores and the 750ti 640. Thats gonna be hard making something inbetween those, all in all performance is gonna be very very close.

Well I've been using a 5770 1GB, and to be honest I do see the game running 'better', 'more fluent' with a 580 3GB later (d'uh of course). Unfortunately I've got an i7 950 (no iGPU) running my HTPC, any inputs on the 5770, or a proper silent (as in passively cooled) replacement? 🙂

Won't this card actually have less vram like 970 due to the architecture being set up differently

why do they make these cards ??

Apparently people buy them. Not everyone have 500$ to spend on 980.
