This is nice to see. Also this will force AMD to launch Navi. Once Nvidia launch this with the 1660, AMD will have nothing to compete with Nvidia (Not even in the entry or midrange). Sad times for AMD... Can’t these guys work a bit faster??? Lol!
No? nVidia is simply waiting because they have to. While they phased out practically all GTX 1080 models and almost all GTX 1070 models, there are 19 specific variants of GTX 1060 available. If there were 6 variants I could have agreed. On AMD's side there are 9 RX-580 models and 8 models of RX-570. Then there is separate question of price vs. performance. Cards not only have to perform better, but have to invade price range of those RX-570/580s. And considering that 16x0 cards are Turing based (bigger SMs), one can expect that older cards like GTX 1060 will prove to be cheaper while having same number of SMs.

So when's the GTX 1680 Ti coming out then... you know, the one everyone really wants that offers RTX 2080 Ti rasterization performance but without all that (mostly) useless RTX technology and at an affordable price? 😉

Meanwhile I am still waiting for that perfect upgrade to my 1.5ghz clocked 980 Ti.. Maybe next gen the card that costs around the same price I paid for my 980 Ti at launch (750ish) at atleast double the performance will finally be here... do not care whether that will be green or red team 😀 Will probably jump to a (god forbid) midrange card this time around since I just moved to a new place and my interests have moved slightly more towards mountain biking then gaming 😱 But then again I can live with a midrange card at double the speed/fps that I have now XD

Bring on the 1680 if that brings 2080 performance minus all the fluff for 450-500 that's my next card as the current 20xx series makes no sense in performance for dollar we've even gone backwards almost.

That will never happen. If Nvidia brings RTX 2xxx performance much cheaper on GTX cards, they will be killing all the entire RTX lineup and all the tech (Ray Tracing, DLSS, etc), that they are trying to push. Nvidia could do this as a desperate measure to respond to something of the competition, but since AMD only has a Radeon VII for $800, there is no need, not even cut the prices on RTX cards!
