Color me unsurprised - i'd bet that the difference in cyberpunk is more than 50%. Litterally none of the "4080" cards are worth their asking price. They both ought to have a 500 usd price reduction, but we all know that wont happen cause of all their 3000 series card they cant sell...

Agreed, i'm certainly not interested in the 4080 to replace my 3080. It's 4090 or nothing and atm I can't afford a 4090 so I wait for all your lovely benchmarks and screenshots of 8k Cyberpunk 2077 and drawl. 😀

Lol some lunatics said 4080 16g is a successor to 3080ti. They cut the crap out of xx80 this time, imo either get the real deal (4090/4080ti) or just get 4060/ti in 2023 to get dlss frame generator option and superb rt performance at 1440p.or skip rtx40 entirely

Lol.... get your DLSS 3.0 fake frame shit out of here, look how bad they are. You can snag a 3090ti for $1100 AUD now. Why dont they show us DLSS 2.0 instead? You know put the shit at the same level.

Certainly understandable. Had the "4080" 16gb been 700 or 800 usd, then it would have been a straight forward upgrade for you. But not at that asking price. You can bet that there are coming some screenies up in a few hours 😉

Unless they slash prices of the "4080" cards by 500 usd... but that seems rather unlikely.

Hey I also heard that all over the forums here. People claim it would destroy it... haha

So wtf did Nvidia do over the 2-3 years, Just work on the 4090 and expect everyone to buy a 4090 or work on DLSS 3.0 Fake Frame for 3 years to give false hope to people thinking they are getting a deal? I just cant wait for their revenue Q4 reports to come out. 😀

The only card that I need/want is 4090. Still 4080 16 GB (the real 4080) is significantly faster than 3090Ti...

Yikes, "4080" looks very undesirable, now I understand why the threw the 4090 first. Here is a hope that AMD could undercut them just like they've done with the HD4000 vs GTX 200.

haste:

4080 16GB MSRP should be at 699 USD. Current 40 series pricing is total scam.
Those were indeed the good ol days when you could get a great GPU for 699$

Looks like Nvidia know AMD won't be competitive this gen, so they can charge their 4080s at sky high prices rx7000 difficult to compete with rtx4000
If you believe rumors then you really are derp derp. As it shows you can't take anything with a grain of salt these days esp in the tech industry. The 4080 claimed it was going to crush the 3080ti... AMD wants the mid-range and mid to high-range buyers who were going to buy a 4080, no one is buying a 4080 now for its crappy price per performance. Keep reading your fake news sites.

i wouldn't say the 408012gb is undesiderable. I m on a 1080ti. If i move to 4080-12 and i am at 3090 levels i probably do it with less power and more modern features and longer driver support. I m a person that kept the 1080ti for long and so for me driver support is important, right? There are many types of customers and they have a product for everyone. I don't remember the asking prices now, i think the 4080-12 starts at 999?

Stop distributing fake news and hearsay rumours created by someone over on twitter. Right now Nvidia wants people to buy the 4090 or the 3000 series, as there is no alternative coming. And you will hear a lot of crap from the usual "leakers" who are just on the NV payroll. We saw the same situation just before the launch of the 6000 series.

The "4080" 12gb is a x60-x70 class card, and ought to cost half of what they charge.

Please don't. 4080/12GB is the rebranded 4060 (48% of the shaders of the flagship like with the previous generations). People need to wake up to the scam Nvidia is pulling right now.

The price/performance for these GPUs is a complete disaster.

It will be hilarious to see the demoted 4070's review in the future. It won't even beat 3080 based on these graphs since 4080 12GB barely does. Nvidia must have decided that every single consumer not able to get a 4090 will worship DLSS 3.0 on their knees and not understand real performance figures at all. It's weird DLSS, which was supposed to be a tool to somehow allow playable FPS despite the heavy performance hit caused by RT, is now in Nvidia's eyes the core of their whole graphics infrastructure. The whole thing reminds me of the scanner market 25 years ago when manufacturers were advertising the likes of 4800 dpi, only it was interpolated, with the physical capability being 1200 dpi.

Lol Nvidia knew exactly where rx6000 will stack up, that why Nvidia used GA102 die for their 3080, which had never happened before. Sure just close your eyes/ears and play pretend that nothing interesting is coming out of Nvidia anyways 🙄
