The hardware is the same as "old" Nvidia Shield TV: X1 chip. The "new" device has the same name, no year number or "2" added or anything else.it lacks the sd card slot and come with an improved gamepad controller you can also buy separately to use it with the "old" Nvidia Shield TV. The Android Nougat OS it has will also be released as an upgrade for "old" device, nothing strange it's the same hardware. 🙂 It's like a classic console same gen refresh.

Holding for what? Its the same console with all the same, minus the always on voice listening, which I am sure not a lot of people want anyway.
