Kinda moot any tech product from AMD/INTEL/NVIDIA for Europe if the people do not take back power. Already cap on electricity has been announced as we have to cut 50-80% (country dependent) of energy consumption from the 1990 levels in the name of the "climate energy crisis". The EU announced measures to "flatten the curve" (their words) of energy consumption!!!!!! Communism is here. USA is lucky to avoid it still because of the November elections.

Not communism, energy rationing. And it's coming to everywhere.

Idk, seems like responsible governance to me.. but then I believe in climate change. Plus you know that once it effects Nvidia's bottom line they'll magically find a way to reduce power consumption of their GPUs by 50% without affecting the performance.

Honestly, looks more like something AI / professional than gaming. I could be wrong ofc. Oh and last time I checked, living in the EU, nobody cut my energy. They're kindly asking to do so because politicians failed to secure our energy supply, respectively. The only change is, it's going to be a lot more costly (and there here in Austria we get subsidies for energy and heating, if one needs it).

What exactly does lack of energy have to do with communism? Europe was far too reliant on Russian energy, and now with that energy source being cut, there simply isn't enough energy production. It's 100% the fault of those countries that decided to overrely on Russia, an unpredictable business partner at best. Communism plays no role whatever. In fact communists are the worst polluters in the history of mankind, so why would anyone trying to "save the planet" be a communist? There are no communist countries in Europe in the first place. Cutting emissions, no matter what your reason behind it is, is not a bad thing. How exactly would it be, as long as things still work? The bad thing is shutting down your own energy production and then buying the missing energy from abroad, as if it that solved everything. Not the first time in history Germany has made insane decisions. Probably not the last either. I hope Germans have enough thick woolen socks and sweaters for the coming winter.

Umm I think what he means by communism is by the government dictates how much power you can use. In a capitalist country the government shouldn’t be dictating anything. The government currently have a stranglehold on the power companies due to the green agenda.

And in pure capitalism profit is king and everything else can suck it. If you think that companies have your best interests at heart, I have a bridge in San Francisco for sale for you. Someone has to keep the excesses of pure capitalism in check. Now this doesn't mean that the government has to be in total control as under communism, but there needs to be some level of care for the common interests to curb the disregard for the common good that happens under pure capitalism. If the cost/benefit function veers to high costs for all, with benefits for the few, you know that something is wrong (cost here is not just financial but all the things that impact your life). We need alternative energy sources to be developed that help us get away from the green house gas emissions before it is too late. The current crop of energy companies will only invest in these when their current methods become less profitable.

Can't wait for more of that "freedom and liberty" of giant investment firms buying all of the housing so I can pay even more in rent! I guess I have the "freedom" to go live in a tent in the woods though, don't I?

Yeah I don't care bro. All these great companies sat there in the name of capitalism doing nothing about the CO2 problem, even though their own studies were showing the damage it was doing. The only movement they did make was due to government regulations as they spent millions lobbying back. Now we're all sitting here getting punished because unchecked capitalism, deregulation and "freedom" is so great.. not. I believe in free market but it needs regulation and this is why. So we aren't sitting here 50 years after the problem should have been mostly solved having to make sacrifices because greedy fuck people just wanted more money. So yeah, if we have to cut back on energy for a few years while we switch to greener more efficient processes to stop the death of millions, I think that's fine tradeoff. Especially because you know companies like Nvidia are just going to engineer their way out of it.

Like others already said, this is not about the climate crisis but about an energy crisis caused by being too dependent on Russia, with the results we know... The question is how long this situation is going to last.

Yea its a good trade off when your family dies off right from freezing in winter lol because you care so much about the earth hahaha. Your a joke with no education or critical thinking

No one is going to cut back on energy for ecological reasons, despite all the pretty talk about the environment and all that. Europe is trying to cut back on energy usage so they won`t have to give any more money to Russia, a decision that support, but there`s a big chance that Europe won`t keep their pledge in the near future, when winter arrives. As for all the ecological issues we are facing, everyone is to blame on a smaller or bigger degree, not only greedy corporations. And worrying only about CO2 won`t solve anything.
