For once I'm really glad I don't use reference design. This looks like a low-poly CG model with facing issues.

I kind of understand why people don't like the new design; it does look a bit more childish IMO... However, I think these will look soooooo good in the In Win Tòu case I'm currently using. Can't wait 🙂

Agreed. At least the old reference cooler looked sleek. The new one looks like they dropped the old on in a garbage disposal. Won't matter since I'd put a block on mine and may skip Pascal altogether, but damn that thing is ugly imo

Looks cheap and poorly designed like something from the pound shop that will break the second you try and use it Just needs multicoloured LEDs now like those 1990s case fans

They should tessellate the card with their superior tessellation performance.

Looks like some Transformers low poly toy lol. Hey, i dont care, why not. I felt their previous retail cooler was too basic anyway. Titan-X looked cool.

Most could care less as they will by a 3rd party cooled card. All the little kiddies that by Alienware prebuilt a will think this look cool.

It's stupid to take care about the design.

it might help get air in and out especially sli set ups. not really into ref cards at all but not so much because of the crappy "titan" coolers but the crappy 4(?)+2 weak as5 power delivery

I don't see the problem. Depends on what you think is the most important thing. The aesthetics or the actual performance.

It also helps that the final product won't probably look like a giant jpeg artifact with screwed up perspectives. That being said, I don't care for the design either, but I put full blocks on all my cards so I guess it don't matter to me.

That looks fake as **** lol. Check the 4 screw holes, why are they not perfectly round, they look like some 5 year old tried drawing circles. Looks like someone made a cut out of paper
Because they took the leaked picture and tried to photoshop/warp tool it so you could see it better.

Inspired by origami.

Exactly. Why do people care what it looks like for the 30 seconds they will see it outside of the case. What matters is the years that it will be in the case where you won't see it and won't know what it looks like.

Nvidia need to take care.... AMD POLARIS will put they down with better performance at lower price... Will need reduce too much the prices, since AMD already is better in 4k performance... Polaris will CRASH the NVIDIA and return strong to the market with the ZEN cpus!

I kind of hope Nvidia gets embarrassed by AMD this round, speaking as someone who's only bought Nvidia for a long time now. I want them to stop being able to get away with selling a mid-range chip at a premium high-end price. A x104 chip around 300mm^2 or smaller should NOT cost $550...that's what the 500mm^2 chips used to go for for many years. Even adjusting for inflation, a GP104 midrange gpu should cost at most $400 (for a GTX"1080"), and allow for 2-3 models based on the GP100 chip costing $500, $550, $600 or so. Titan was their way of forcing $1000 price tags on what used to be $500 gpus. Save the fancy names and prices for the professional Quadro and Tesla markets and start competing against AMD with your real high-end chips, not mid-range crap in high-end clothing.

Well, this is a thread about the card's design. I doubt you'll see something like: "I'm not buying this card - it's too ugly" under performance reviews.
