I have only one thing to say. Thanks China.

Nvidia makes GPUs for Chinese miners only. Very sad to see a company who became what they are by PC games, do this to PC gamers. They could have easily laser locked hash limiter on all their dies. But don't they didn't Gamers will most likely look at Intel for hope, hopefully.

The inventor of crypto currency is a James Bond universe level supercriminal. And just like a typical supercriminal from fiction, the person is only known by a pseudonym.

We need a crypto currency app for consoles

Like some members have already said before, this is the perfect time to explore our existing games library, specially those games we never paid too much attention.

Next year will be better. Lets just hope none of our gpus will die that would suck.

How the hell do you laser lock a hash limiter.. What the hell does that even mean rofl. This forum sometimes.

You laser lock a temporal quantum convergence hash restrictor.

I think he meant laser trim (burn a fuse in the die) somewhere in the circuit to block that particular use, or maybe he didn't but as we have seen I doubt that would work as they would just use some weird shenanigans to make the card think it's gaming at the cost of a bit of performance

Tell us something we don't know, Nvidia. Most folks already know that the crypto bull cycle is due to end early next year, and then GPUs will probably flood the market. I say probably because if the crypto boom doesn't end then, due to increased and accelerated exposure to institutional monies, thus prolonging the bull cycle, expect to see Nvidia saying things like "GPU shortages to last for the bigger part of 2022." 🙄

Everyone hopeful Intel will be of help. Everyone forgetting who Intel is. If the shortage continues, Intel will charge what it wants.

The problem is his entire post, on top of "laser lock a hash limiter" just being nonsense, is that it fundamentally misunderstands crypto mining and the crypto mining market. It's the equivalent of asking Nvidia to just hardware lock hacking in video games. Even the first part of his post is incorrect, unless every chinese miner is taking steam hardware surveys on their rigs for some reason.

Dear nvgreedia you can proudly suck it, and save that PR bs for something else.

Let's wait and see when Ethereum 2.0 comes online and EIP1559 which should be enacted sometimes this year (I'm expecting July or August?) and this should in theory bring better availability of GPUs Unless there is crypto crash or something like that I don't think we will see normal availability of GPUs although scalpers or people who wants to make a quick money always will be here with us Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

I feel like eth's POS change has been coming in July for 4 years now lol I'm also not really sure it changes anything. Why wouldn't miners just move to the next most profitable coin? A huge portion of mining (probably nearly all of it) is literally just people wanting to make a quick buck and miners make up most of that. ETH/Litecoin became relevant specifically because they could be mined on GPUs after bitcoin couldn't. If they go away something else will just take its place.

Let's see, if PoW has changes to PoS later this year we will see significant drop in mining on GPUs and this year finally coming online ASIC for Ethereum which should ends GPUs mining Agree if you heavily invested in mining as I know few people who done that then off course you will move to different coin hahaha Literally I don't care, I just want these suckers be done, don't care what will happen with miners if they will be broken etc, that's the risk They already upgrading fork to hard fork this month I think 15th of April and I really hope Ethereum 2.0 will be enacted this July, I will celebrate that hahaha Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

Considering Coinbase is about to be listed on NASDAQ, I wouldn't hold my breath on this getting better anywhere in the near future.
