I was considering getting into organized crime, drugs trafficking, robbing banks and stuff. But seeing this news makes it look small fries....

Well, we could start an AIB business and start selling to scalpers... I heard there's an open slot... 🙄

And we are back to scalpers/miners era.

Help us, Obi-Wan AMD, you are our only hope. Unfortunately I expect AMD's response to be: "You don't know the power of the dark side."

Performance Heat Power draw Cost They need to pick their fight carefully based on feedback from peeps regarding the 4*** series.

Cost and power draw - i think they can easily win on those 2.

AMD Wan Kenobi? Funny to see this since there's a lot of discussions about if the Jedi are actually just as evil as the Sith...

€1999 is accurate, that's basically the USD MSRP converted to EUR with VAT tacked on. If you want someone to compete on price, it's going to be Intel, assuming their GPU division survives long enough to release a second generation. AMD has no interest in competing on price, and they have already proven it several times over.

I payed an insane price for a 3080Ti 1.5 years ago, and I hoped that would remain an exception for an exceptional times. Turns out it's the new norm, no way I can afford to do this every generation... I'll sit this one out with a very small hope that maybe, just maybe, things will get better next time (that is if we don't enter nuclear winter meanwhile).

Im not sure these prices will "fly" for a long time, this is madness. Considering mining has dwindled down for now and all miners are doing is selling cards atm, without lockdowns keeping ppl at home (and ppl having choices what to do with the money) i think this is a bit of a hail marry attempt to cash in on early adopters who wont ask for price. I mean a gaming computer that starts at ~4000$ is a bit much for most. Im doing ok financially and could take this hit but im not gonna, out of principle. 3070 still serves me very good.

You can get the Asus TUF non-oc version for the same price as the cheap gigabyte model 🙂 (and the TUF cooler is nearly as good as the strix cooler)
