They had the nerve to say, "Brings the Ada architecture down to $799". Seriously.

No FE means the MSRP is made-up marketing BS.

Another super expensive GPU. Thanks a lot, for nothing.

Here's a list of nVidia GPUs in the recent years that were overpriced or severely overpriced, and any comparisons against them for "value" are just dumb: Overpriced: - RTX 2060 (original) - RTX 2070 (original) - RTX 2080 (original) .... the Super variants are actually okay'ish in perf/price - GTX 1650 - RTX 3060 Very overpriced: - GTX 1630 - RTX 3050 - RTX 3080 (12GB) - miner tax - RTX 2060 (12GB) - miner tax - RTX 4090 - Listing it here instead of the f*** joke because 4090 is actually very powerful, despite costing a ton. It still costs way more than it should, in a "normal" market this GPU would be the $1000 "Titan", but no more. A f**** bad joke: - RTX 2080 Ti - RTX 3080 Ti - RTX 3090 - Lots of people bought this one despite being extremely bad value, simply because nothing else existed on the market - RTX 4080 - Considering shader counts vs the 4090, this one is actually a "4070" - RTX 4070 Ti - Renamed "60" class GPU with more than double the price. Out of this world: - Titan RTX - Was not destined to the gamer market - RTX 3090 Ti - Whoever bought this piece of shiet, congrats, you are the reason why we only have $1000+ GPUs in the new generation .... and people still buy them. I hope they'll enjoy RTX 7000 generation entry level "7060 Ti" being $2000 with the RTX 7090 costing $5000 if they continue buying this overpriced crap.

Not sure that will change anything if this pricing is the new norm.

I'm afraid a 4060 will be 600$, which would mean a decent asus from the shelf would be 750$. At this point might as well switch to a console for gaming...

This pricing can't be the new norm if no one is buying. Like I said before, they're playing a game of chicken with these prices, hoping people will cough up scalper/miner/covid levels of money permanently. Lowest GPU sales in 20 years isn't a coincidence. Every time I check what cards are available there's always 7900 XTs, 4080s, and some 4090s in stock, most people can't afford these prices, and the ones going for below a 4090 don't want a 7900 XT or 4080.

If people refuse to pay it demand will drop and if it stays low, they will lower prices. Stay strong peeps but it looks like we need one more quarter of trash sales before Nvidia is going to adjust.

Wont happen, as soon as the 4060 series is released the core Steam 1080p players will lap them up at 500USD a pop.

Im not convinced availability is a good unit of measure for sales. OCUK has a load of 4090 and 4080 but very few 7900xt or xtx, thats either good sales, poor supply or a bit of both.

Yeah this generation has lost all its value purpose. Hard skip this generation on all fronts.

The core Steam players don't spend more than 250/300 euros on a GPU. 500 euros or more is only for enthusiasts (crazies) like us.

The performance of last gen's xx90TI card in the xx70TI seams reasonable, but... ... is it with interpolated frames (DLSS3)? ... it still costs more than a xx70xx should ever cost ... it's last gen's xx90TI's performance for the price last gen's xx90TI should have had ... for the price and performance of last gen's xx90TI it's still 2 years too late to be what it should have been I don't know, I'm not sold.

Are you sure? They seem to keep going "hmm, guess no one wants these, we'll just cut production" instead.
