I hope there will be a Waterforce version of the 3080ti, that'll be my new card then. Edit: reading helps, GV-N308TAORUSX W-20GD is it 🙂

before anyone else reads my comment below you should know that custom loop watercooling a gpu works even better than on a cpu, the difference in temps and heat generation in the case is dramatic I switched to it a few months ago while waiting for a 3080 I saw one of the 10Gbs in stock and didn't buy it here's why in chronological order 1) checking EK ASUS combo card : only 2 pcie cables..hmm weird 2) checking waterforce card : only 2 pcie cables...okaaayy 3) checking aorus extreme and asus strix cards : 3 pcie cables...watercooling being so great for overclocking your gpu, seems weird 4) checking EK ASUS combo 3090 ; only 2 pcie cables again ! we know 3090 should go in the 400 watts so why power limit the card ? 5) googled and found that the EK block is an old "cheaper" version of their current blocks it is my belief that those pre-watercooled cards have not so good chips, that would overheat on air evga the "performance cards" still haven't released their watercooled cards on the other hand I'll finish by saying that I found a waterforce review (can't find it again sorry it was in a different language) and it had better scores than an aircooled 3080 by a few fps like 5 so it won't be "bad"

It doesn't have to be faster, I'll be heavily CPU bottlenecked anyway. I'm happy if it is cooler than an air-cooled one. And I guess with my CPU I can turn on raytracing and not even notice any performance hit.

id take a guess at 1099 maybe 1150... 999 seems a little cheap with the vram

Wait the 3060 has 12gb but 3070 have 8gb and 3080 10gb? Nvidia is on to something with this exponential vram increase.

The whole 30 series has had an awkward amount of RAM. The 8GB 3060 Ti is pretty the only one with a "normal" amount. Everything else either had more than necessary or not quite enough.

Don't care! Today - the last day of the year - the doorbell rang twice - it was a courier with my long awaited ASUS ROG STRIX 3080 OC. When I opened the package...it was like angels were singing from their trumpets. I felt compelled to sing a religious song and I looked at my wife's oven and I s**t you not: I saw Jensen by the oven smiling at me with his thump up. I cried... It is HUGE - and I love it!

If there is higher Vram models what does that mean for bus bandwidth? What bus will a 12gb 3060 get?

So 3060 Ti model has 8GB vram while the basic 3060 model gets 12GB.. Great work Nvidia 😀

MSRP = ebay in the states. The UK has it good, they made scalping illegal recently. US still has not followed suit and it makes no sense.

Those who have snagged the vanilla 10GB RTX 3080 will just have to suck it then.....I wonder how much the 20GB version's gonna cost though, judging by the insane prices of the 10GB version now, I shudder at the thought.

Where is that 3060 gonna fit into the stack? The 3060 is already like £380-£450, the 3070 is like £500-£650, the 3080 is around the £700-£900 range depending on the vendor. (3090 is like £1700 and completely stupid) The 3080Ti would fit nicely into the £1000-£1200 range, but the 3060 12GB is just weird? Unless we are going to be seeing a price shuffle? If so Nvidia needs to "turn the tap on" and start flooding the market with GPU's cause things will be getting even worse with the scalpers. A 12GB/16GB 3070 would of been a better fit. OR maybe Nvidia are going to discontinue current models and replace them all with newer ones all with more VRAM to counter AMD. Makes sense really given the supply constraints. Why add more SKU's if you can't supply the current ones, and not to forget but AMD really brought the fight this time in terms of rasterization and VRAM count. 8GB 3060Ti >>>>>>>>>> becomes >>>>>>>>>>> 12GB 3060Ti 8GB 3070 >>>>>>>>>>> becomes >>>>>>>>>>>> 16GB 3070Ti 10GB 3080 >>>>>>>>>> becomes >>>>>>>>>>>> 20GB 3080Ti and the 3090 rots on shelves where it belongs. Then Nvidia actually release a true Ampere TITAN card with 48GB VRAM for £3000-£5000. Which will probably be snapped up by scalpers and be on ebay for £100,000 🙁

These cards will be too slow by the time games use more than 10GBs of VRAM.
games already use 10gb

I run a few games at 4k that max out my 1080Ti VRam. Ive also seen near 30gb of RAM used on my installation of DCS.
