When you wrote "dominate" I assumed they were at the top of the pile. Even with the 3060Ti and the 3060 in tow all these combined are needed to topple the mighty 1060. Outstanding indeed.

Oh the famous steam survey. I guess we have to believe that.

Did they add Nice hash or something on steam?

AMD's marketshare is somewhere around 17% in the discreet GPU field right?

The unfortunate thing about articles like these is that it sturs up some negative feedback. But really, who cares what other people choose to use? Everyone will use what they want. I'm using a 3070 and I'm pretty happy with it. If others are happy with their hardware, then that's great too.

Not sure where you live, but in my world (Earth) very few people have the GPU they want.

Well that was unnecessarily rude and negative. It would be nice to have a 3090 (or the whatever the best GPU is on the planet) but at some point you just have to be happy with what you got or work hard and get an upgrade. That wasn't my point anyways. I was addressing people that shoot down others because of their hardware choices. Never got that. Let's all just chill and enjoy our games.

I mean honestly if you go through people on this forum.. a lot of them have 3k/7000 series cards from nvidia/amd. I think a lot of people got caught up in the mining memes but in reality a lot of gamers did actually get these products.

i'm surprised 3070 is more popular than 3060ti not surprised about 3080, this card, despite the shortcomings, offers tremendous performance, including ray tracing. if I can get 3060ti to run at 50-60fps even with the most intensive games like cp2077,dying light 2, control, all rt effects enabled, then 3080 is getting 80-100 easily.

I personally feel like the 3000 series cards are mostly great (assuming you can get one at a reasonable price around MSRP). "But" my big gripe with the 3000 series cards is that Nvidia skimped out a bit too much on VRAM seems to me. Instead of 3070 having 8 gigs and 3080 having 10 I wish they would've shifted that up by one increment where the 3070 could have 10 and the 3080 could have 12. Would've gone a long way imo as even at 1440p some games at Ultra are pushing the boundaries of 8 gigs on the VRAM side with all the features enabled (DeathLoop for example even with DLSS Ultra still went above the 2080 Super's 8 gig allotment in my tests when RT and everything was switched on, the game will yell at you about VRAM being overbudgeted in the settings). At 4K, I really feel that the 3080 is a necessary jump over the 3070 as many games push beyond the 8 gig VRAM limit so it's a bit awkward having to harshly scale back texture quality and the like to make it function. AMD's solution with a GPU cache and more VRAM of a lesser speed is an interesting one, though I don't know whether it's "better".

The 3070 is absolutely VRAM constrained at 4K in my experience, even when using DLSS performance mode. It's frustrating because otherwise it offers quite acceptable performance. RT features I could otherwise use have to be kept off in CP2077 and Watch Dogs Legion, for example. Control works nice enough, though.

I was mostly joking around.

Maybe has to do with the pricing since the 3070 was not going for much more than the 3060ti around here. Maybe is the case with a lot of other places too.
