Well knowing from last titles like FC4 or DAI, 290 is fast as 970 so no way 960 will be that close. Also that means it will hurt 970 sales. Big expectations on your side.

I am in the same boat I want a single mid range card with the same performance as my 660ti sli before I consider upgrading. I game at 1080p so the 660ti in SLI is plenty at the moment

I guess nvidia will have problem to meet demand for this card as they may not find enough bad GM-204 to cripple into GTX-960 and that's because 28nm node have matured enough in the last years .

I've been recommending all my friends and family who are looking for pc stuff to get the 960 as their graphics card. It's the best card for 1080 res usage. Not much else to say about it. I'm waiting for gm200/210 whatever the codename is gonna be big maxwell. My current gpu is dying tho i might not make it. Random yellow green blue and red blotches appear on my screen randomly and then go away randomly. Even if it doesn die 2560x1600 just ain't workin out with a 5870
