I have a hard time believing these are real. Not that I think the specs are inaccurate, but the slides are like amateur as hell looking. The Cuda and TDP number 1's look like they are photoshopped in. The graph is blurry as hell, the title is like asinine, even for Nvidia's standards. The comparison graph doesn't exactly follow the typical Nvidia chart characteristics. Idk. It just seems sloppier then usual leaked slides.

If this turns out to be as fast as stock GTX 980 and if it overclocks well I might sidestep to this. I would gain a bit extra VRAM and some Pascal improvements.

Once you see the price I bet you'll change your mind 😉

Wow these slides. its pretty agressive. Good to see Nvidia try AMD tactics 😀 If it really is true , these slides, and it launches on the 7th for a reasonable price it will be a TKO Hopefully it will launch next week though so we dont have to endure so much hype lol

Looks like the RX 480 killer is born.Higher performance, higher clocks for sure, less heat and more power efficient (1.5x).Reference TDP of GTX 1080 is 166 Watt , for the GTX 1070 TDP is 161 Watt and for the AMD RX 480 is 166 Watt. Load noise level for GTX 1070 and for the GTX 1080 is 40 dBA, but for the AMD RX 480 is 42 dBA. IDK when will AMD learn the proper GPU making lesson, hopefully one day. When GTX 1060 is out these days AMD will be forced to lower the price of the RX 480 drastically in the low 150-200 USD price range if they want to sell any of this RX 480 GPU model and as usual the silly low price is gonna be the reasoning why anyone would buy it.For now AMD can compete versus Nvidia only with offering the customers the lowest possible prices of their RX 480 model. Let the GPU mainstream war begin.

Over here, 8GB variant of 480 costs around 310€, which is more or less $340 - way more than $219. GTX 970 with factory OC and non-reference cooler is 290€ / $320. With these prices, NV doesn't even need 1060 to compete. Ok, you get 8GB vs 3.5GB RAM, but the card is noisy, and non-reference ones will cost even more. Once 1060 is released, I can't see 480 being a viable option unless prices are heavily reduced. I'm pretty disappointed.

Yeah, such diagrams should always start at 0

If in Poland RX480 costs that much 1060 will probably cost the same. And yes, nvidia need a new card. No one wants an last gen card with 3.5gb vram that cots alsmost 300€.

Well when the competitions newest top card can't beat (consistently) a two year old mid range card maybe they will. Curious what are the prices of a 390 compared to the 480 in your area?

If the pricing in Slovakia is anything to go by, a 480 8gb is 293 eur, 390 oc is 304 eur. So about the same. I'll just assume the prices between Poland, Slovakia and Serbia are very similar. EDIT: MSI Gaming 970 is 322 eur. I really need an AIB 480 or 1060 to come out next week, it's cheaper to buy them in England than those parts of Europe. Which is pretty sad.

In that case I would be tempted by the 390 over the 480.

Yeah, seems like a better choice atm. I'll wait till thursday next week and see if we have any more news on custom 480 and the 1060. If not I'll probably just get a 390... They can be had for under £200 here. Damn, or 970, the 4gb would be enough for 1080p. Need to decide.

Yeah my 780 needs an upgrade the 480 would be a nice step up but I will wait for AIB cards. What did you do with your old 970?

You just have to love a graph that implies a 300% gain when a 44% gain is present. Those graphs are so ridiculously scaled and zoomed in to be skewed that it's simply laughable to witness. I'm going to start graphing everything like this. :-P

Those pics look fake as f***. However, I do like the fake marketing slogan "The power of GTX980 for every gamer".

If it is between 970 and 980 it will be a huge upgrade for you.

Interesting is how this 1060 actually reminds me of 660. Make sure you are looking at the 6GB ver and its pricing.

MUCH FASTER THAN AN RX 480. Seems dumb on a slide. But the card should be similar or faster then rx 480 in dx11 for sure. I wonder what the clocks will be. Should be stock around 1800 to be as fast as 970? Since it has less rops, less cuda cores and less tmus.

This is obviously aimed at people undecided on RX480 or waiting on 3rd party 480's. It's PR spin true or not. Good PR spin because looking at those numbers you'd be a fool not to put the little extra cash into a 1060 over 480 but i'd just wait for Real numbers. What we do know about 1060 is the 6gb version will be above ref gtx980 and the 3gb one will be under 980 slightly, that's what i think anyway especially with DX11 games. 1060 might move even more ahead of a REF 980 in DX12. 6gb version will be same price as 980 because otherwise any stock 980s remaining won't sell. Or maybe Nvidia is willing to EoL the 9xx once a full range of 10xx cards are released. Only people who would buy a 980 now are those looking to SLi them but i don't think it's worth it tbh. Cheapest 980 is around £280 and that's what i think the 1060's price will be. The 6gb will be £289 and the 3gb will be £249. That chart looks mad but it's basically saying the 1060 6gb is only 0.15% faster than RX480 which is probably a few FPS at best but the kicker is the 1060 will be much better power/heat wise.
