4080 needs a huge price drop to sell.

As lon as 7900 xtx isn't avaiable, 4080 is actual selling, but pretty slow. 4090 is outselling 4080 by a huge amount here in Norway! Too bad 7900 xtx released with about "100" units world wide..... Epic fail from AMD. They missed a nice window to sell many units.

Iv already seen many leaks showing the 4070ti at £1400 mark so it will defo be over a grand most likely, the current pricing of the 40 series is a massive joke, no wonder there sales are rubbish

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti could cost $799, at least 10% cheaper than cancelled RTX 4080 12GB
Multiple sources now claim that the price of RTX 4070 Ti should be at least 10% lower than cancelled RTX 4080 12GB. NVIDIA has allegedly confirmed the price of RTX 4070 Ti, the upcoming upper high-end RTX 40 desktop GPU that is to come out next week. The card is to cost $799 or 6499 RMB according to multiple reports. As a reminder, the RTX 4070 Ti is a new name for the RTX 4080 12GB card that was cancelled 2 months ago. NVIDIA is bringing back the same spec’ed GPU but with a different name, and now it seems a new price as well. According to Wccftech, NVIDIA has informed board partners today that the price of RTX 4070 Ti is $799, a $100 (11%) cheaper than RTX 4080 12GB. The same price is mentioned by Moore’s Law is Dead. In China, multiple sources such as Expreview or BoardChannels now claim that RTX 4070 Ti is to launch at 6499 RMB, which is 700 RMB cheaper than supposed MSRP for RTX 4080 12GB (or 10% cheaper). At $799 the RTX 4070 Ti would be twice as cheap as RTX 4090 MSRP (which is hardly seen these days). The RTX 4070 Ti does have half of the memory (12GB GDDR6X) but the CUDA core specs are actually less than half (7680 vs. 16384). The only problem with RTX 4070 Ti MSRP is that there is no Founders Edition, and as a result finding this card at MSRP will depend on custom model availability. NVIDIA always ‘requests’ that board partners provide at least some non-OC models at MSRP at launch, but typically those cards sell out very fast, meaning that MSRP may be very short lived. On the other hand, NVIDIA and AICs had an extra 2 months to prepare extra stock, so if these cards do sell out, then there is something very wrong with the supply.

Proshop has a BIG discount on the gigabyte 4080 gaming now though. https://www.proshop.dk/Grafikkort/GIGABYTE-GeForce-RTX-4080-GAMING-OC-16GB-GDDR6X-RAM-Grafikkort/3115874 Actually might be worth it at that price. Obviously that price is with danish vat - without it, the price is 1.183,24 euro, which is actually a bit below msrp. Still steep, but still 200-300 euros cheaper than a few weeks ago.

price cut in march.

Well if it drops 200-300eur more it will make sense.
Yeah. People buying the 4080 strix at 1800 euro's though... i facepalm so hard everytime i see it... you can get a 4090 for roughly the same price.

It's about 1200 NOK cheaper now, so not massive. Looking at proshop.no that has the same "sale"

Yes, just like the 4090 and the 7900XTX/XT also need price drops... Even worse, last gen cards need price cuts even more than those cards and so far, nothing!...

I don't think gaming gpu sucess is all that important to Nvidia anymore. They got bigger fish to fry. And AMD should just quit. Who cares at this stage about underwhelming paper launches.

Lol, how does the 7900 xtx, and especially the 4090, need price cuts... they offer way better performance to price ratio's than the 7900 xt and 4080. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean that it needs a price cut - it's about what it offers at a given price.

On the contrary amd needs to push and keep trying as nvidia is loosing grip with reality they gonna loose market share too.
