The devil's in the details 😀

Programmers of artificial camera motions, repeat after me... EASE IN! EASE OUT! Spline bias tension at both ends of a camera movement keyframe can change a robotic, artificial camera motion into something organic that looks like a human being is piloting the ship and moving the chase camera. /rant Sorry, gents. But this is a pet peeve of mine going back decades now. There isn't a digital animator in the world who doesn't learn this in his first CGI animation class and yet we keep seeing in AAA demos and game releases who damn well should know better. 🙂

i get your point, but clearly this wasn't the main point of this tech showcase, nor is this an AAA demo. 🙂

I'm surprised LOD master -Tj- isn't in here raving about how cool this is. Nvidia is working to get this implemented into DX12 libraries/Vulkan - hopefully it forever removes LOD pop-in while simultaneously increasing performance.

Any idea if this is going to be driver solution or per-game solution?

Actually I saw this few weeks ago. Longer presentation. LOD popups are still there , but at least it's more dynamic and not so noticeable. I would like to see this with foliage not those hard transitions. Also I wasn't that impressed with this showcase only because it still ran like crap. Nvm without this lod hack/trick, then it was I think 10-20fps. And they ran it on a 2080ti if I'm not mistaken. On a smaller scale sure, it would be sufficient.

I guess we can see this in games around 2035.

Downloading the demo now. Thanks. Wow this is awesome. Getting around 350fps at 4k. Edit:nevermind benchmark runs a lot worse. Avg fps at 4k was 53.
