I need a GPU for my optipro 7010 that I stuck a 2500 in. HDMI2.0 equipped HTPC that could play some newer games at medium setting on 1080, and older games at 4K30.
I bet the 1050ti would do good in that rig!^ Edit: Heck....>I bet the 1050ti kicks my 960's butt!

That wouldn't take much....lol Hopefully the 1050 and 1050ti perform better than the "leaks" suggest.

The enthusiast cards don't impress me these days. I'd like to see an entry-level gaming card with reasonable performance. NVidia doesn't seem to be progressing much in that area these days when you consider price. The 1050ti should at least match the performance of the 970 since the 1060 is faster by a reasonable margin, but I still expect closer to 950/960 performance....which considering what the asking price is likely to be, is a slap in the face at this point.

I'm hoping a Low Profile Card without additional Power Plug will surface because this is the card that my brother needs to shove in a HP Slim Computer to play Doom as it has been choking on an OC GTX 750.

I'm the opposite. My x34 is dying for a card that can pin games at 100fps.. the 980TI does a valiant job, no doubt, but as someone who is not a multi-carder any longer, I want the single best card. Anyway, I'll stop derailing since this is about the 1050. I will say that these cards look awesome for mini-itx builds.

Since the 1050 Ti is faster than 960 at just 1400 MHz, I'm really curious what this GPU can do at +2000 MHz.

750 Ti was good because they were cheap and offer good performance vs power consumption, was widly used for crypto coins home 6-card mining rigs... They released 1050 Ti, but today crypto mining is not profitable at all, and if someone decide to buy then it will buy ATI cards cause they progressed much in this area (when nvidia stay in the same place)

Who cares, announce the 1080Ti already.

crypto coins... years i haven't ear about it, since most major bank doesn't accept them no more. gtx750TI were as gtx950, good for everyday PC as they offer the power that any APU/IGP where lacking of (even now that they increase on this point). not everyone need gtx1080 or (for the moment) RX480, for most a GPU should not be more than 150 Euro and that's the money maker (and why we have gtx1050 and RX460). sadly for AMD they are 30Euro more expensive for less power right now.

What no 1060ti in the works? It boggles my mind how well my gtx 660ti gamed on my system. Why not release something in the midrange like that? Close to a 1070 overclocked yet cheeper price wise. Make sence or no?

There are two 1060's already, there will be no 1060ti. Nvidia seems dropped the the "ti" brand in mid segment(last few gen), left only in low and high segment you know, to make the card look better.

Yeah the 1060 6GB is basically the 1060ti.

I'm not sure how you can say that AMD is 30EUR more expensive for less power. I have yet to see anything but leaked benchmarks for the 1050 and if memory serves, it's performance was pretty abysmal....just like the RX 460.

GTX950 cost generaly around 20/30 Eur less than RX460 and are better in most scenario (even in dx12 where AMD should be better) and most benchmark is like that: http://www.evga.com/articles/01063/images/performance/chart_01.jpg source: EVGA's 1050/1050Ti page so simple deduction: 1050 do better than 950 that do better than RX460 if AMD doesn't lower the price why buy a RX460?

Good move AMD!
It's definitely good for consumers but Nvidia is putting the pressure on AMD big time. The 470 was already cannibalizing a chunk of 480 sales and now it's only going to do so further. Couple that with the recent Q3 earnings report (how low AMD margins are in general) and financially this really hurts them.

I dont think it hurts them that much. AMD upped the Polaris production, cards are selling well acording to latest AMD financial list. There is a rumor there will be another Polaris card joing the family as well as Vega chip next year. They are trying to to deliver on all fronts.
