I bet she didn't mention shipping myriad cards directly to miners. But then again, if miners as well can't get as many cards as they'd like, it's still a shortage of supply. All the same in Nvidia's eyes.

For the ASUS 3080 Strix OC I moved in my queue by one each week, thank you cancellations.
The lack of stock is dire but the lack of communication is worse. I work in a hotel company so I would know how Covid is causing hard times, but we also communicate to our guests and our suppliers.
The lack of communication hints at a lack of professionalism in the industry we enjoy as a hobby and needs a bit of growing up.

so the 'trade war' with china and sanctions and embargos and import stops and huawei deals and alll that has absolutly no influence at all, aye ? yez ...

when it came to light that they would be using Samsung for this GPU generation there were a few in the industry who questioned the move and now we see why.

Something is clearly moving....
As I wrote in another topic I made a pre order for RTX 3080 - first time of delivery was 3 weeks and today I received a call from the store that they will deliver my card 12 days earlier.

Got my 3090 by total luck and chance a few weeks ago.
Apparently a customer was extremely unhappy and belligerent regarding the purchase of a desktop computer at the local Micro Center. He was threatening on the phone which resulted in 2 police cruisers showing up and dispersing the waiting line ahead of opening.
I just happened to show up about 20 minutes after opening and walked past the cops posted at the door. Asked the sales person if they had any 30 series. There were a few 3090's.
If I knew who the threatening customer was I'd send a case of beer as a thank you.

Drove by the micro center on tuesday 5 minutes before opening. There were about 60 people in line. Kept driving.
This is insane. The 30 series have been out a couple of months and the 5000's a month.

Is why I bought a 3090 just over a week ago when some appeared in online shops, fat chance of getting a 3080, I feel very lucky.
This game isnt a pleasant one to be forced into, I wasnt happy.
Lifes too short, grab fun while you can!
Instead of keeping this card for 2 years, it will last me for 4, making the overall cost per year almost the same.
Upside is 24GB ram (for mods and the few games that will exceed 10GB) and have the fastest card for 2 years, but then will probably be slightly slower than next gen x80 cards for 2 years.
I reckon it will hold up great.

What did you guys pay for your 3090?
Just asking since local retailers ask 1700€ / $2000 and beyond for them.
With those pricings they can honestly go f themselves

So Nvidia is finally confirming that they are having serious issues producing the GPUs and that´s one of the big reasons why they are extremely hard to get instead of repeating the "higher demand than expected" PR talk.
Good to see them finally coming clean about it.

I paid MSRP for an FE.

The same for 3080 - I payed MSRP price.
I was thinking about a 3090 that are in stock in some e shops but the price was >> 2500 euro - crazy!!! (must be the reason why there is a stock of 3090) - I need a new inter-cooler for my car so I settled with 3080...

This is why I cancelled my order for the Asus Tuff oc 3080 I was 900 in a queue and that was after 2 months of waiting and then I got the opportunity to purchase a Palit Gaming Pro I figured with shortages the way they are might as well buy what's available and I'm glad I did otherwise I'd still be sat in that queue.
