Pretty innovative looking product. Someone should compare this method to traditional hand lapping along with temps to see how much improvement there really is.

While it is a neat product at the projected price it does add a lot of work for the user with a few only a few degree`s gain, also you completely destroy your warranty not to mention adding issues in the event of reselling the cpu in the future, I know Linus tested the first Nude water block and got a few degree`s gain but will lapping the die make much more improvement....who knows, by the time someone actually tests this method and releases there findings most people will have moved on to the next gen chip set or switched to Amd.

The above post is valid for anything tweaker related. The ram with the extra low latency, the super cool duper motherboard, and the videocard with the extra power delivery. Everytime you go off the specs, you spend a LOT and you gain a BIT. And this is valid for large companies. A product like this from an individual/small company is to admire and praise imho.

I remember this cooling design from Linus Tech Tips back when he tried the prototype that was made for a 7700K and had great results from it.

Yep, you would definitely need to delid the CPU for this operation; aluminum oxide (on the sand paper) getting into it would not be a good thing. Nevertheless the fixture itself is a great idea.
