Cheaper, less power, it will be air cooled and still more powerful than the 5600x. May be fine.

7600x is faster for gaming than 7700x

Yep, just like my 11700 buy an overkill NH-D15 and enjoy the silence at 600 RPM during load =]

AMD really needs to release the non-X versions, with lower prices, to be able to fight Intel.

Mobo and RAM still the same prices though.

Yeah, but it would be one step in the right direction.

The prices have to be much lower, otherwise is going to be useless.

True. We need cheaper boards.

Im sure early 7700x adopters will be happy

AMD pride needs to go down a notch, they MUST drop prices to compete with 13600K and soon 13400K. Outside AM5 longevity, I don't see any advantage to buy a zen4 CPU outside 7950X, those 3D parts needs to be very well oiled...

AM5 longevity and the superior 5nm from TSMC still out weights the cheaper 10nm power hungry 13th gen Intel.

Pretty sure AM5 won't be sold as well as intel 13 RPL, at least until AMD will make a decisive decision and release X3D along with price cuts before. Though in the look of the whole image, 5800X3D shows its worth of value.

Maybe the current 7*** line up was released purely as placeholders until AMD had enough 7800X3D's to release enmass, you never know..........................

Seems like it, can't think of a reason why AMD would be so oblivious to 13600K rumors that turn out true, 13900K poses little threat to the 7950X.

That`s how it works, there`s always something better or cheaper on the horizon.

The 3D parts are just for enthusiasts, no matter how good they are. For AM5 to succeed, they need to release cheaper parts and cheaper MBs.

I'm glad to hear this. Nowadays, I'm more interested in my gaming rig being compact and efficient rather than squeezing more performance out of my chips. I would even consider under-volting this. However... considering the price of the 7700X, I have a feeling I will not be getting a 7700. At this point, it's pretty predictable how much a 13400 or 13500 will cost, and for my purposes, they will most likely be a better deal than a 7700. Of course, this also depends on how they compare to a 5700X, which right now is a good price.

I expect price drops on AMD cpu's very soon. That is what I'm waiting for. Paying for a new Z790 board is literally throwing money away since 14th-16th gen will work on Z890 chipset. AM5 motherboard is expensive because it is a real PCI Gen 5 board and is future proof.

Price or Performance, the 4090 proves you don't need both if one of them is juicy enough to hook people's attention. Peeps are OK to pay crazy prices for 4090 as theu get crazy performance. The whole AM5 thing is crazy price for meh performance. Bring out a 7800X3D with Intel crushing game performance and we will all be throwing our money around.

Well, if I were to go with a low-end i5, I personally don't care to get a Z chipset. Also, PCIe 4.0 will be plenty good enough for me for a very, very long while. As far as I'm concerned, the only reason we have 5.0 at all is because of server demands. So long as you're not starved for VRAM, PCIE 4.0 @ x8 lanes is still good enough even for a 4090. By the time I get my hands on a GPU that powerful, socket AM5 will probably be obsolete.

Rumours about Ryzen 7700 (no X) already? Sales must indeed suck. God forbid them to lower prices so they could sell!
