Video looks like an Intel ad honestly: they use 11900k at 125W TDP, but the website says you can't use Ryzen 3700X at 65W TDP. Ya, right.

I love the idea and this has always been my ultimate PC goal - zero moving parts, BUT we live in the real world, and if you have a typical desktop CPU then most likely you'll need some air intake, IN WHICH CASE dust-wise, a combination of zero-RPM case fans + normal CPU cooler is more than a competitive solution

I think it will do extremely well with good 3x120mm intake fans and top+rear 140mm exhaust we'll see,no word on pricing,but I might try it out

imo semi-passive is not perfect either better keep it at 400rpm at all times than wait for it to soak up heat and start higher same goes for the psus

Why? So that during 90% of the time I don't need them spinning they would suck in dust? My case fans engage only if average temperature of CPU or GPU goes above 50 Celsius during 15 seconds time window. Which typically happens only if crunching or gaming. PSU is at default Corsair profile and never engages. 2 CPU fans running at 220 RPM 90% of the time.

i will definitely use Noctua in my next PC built, and passive yea i will use the NH-P1 for the GPU by modding ;-)

Also, note the quote from the article: "the NH-P1 cools an Intel Core i9-11900K running Prime95 at more than 3.60 GHz" The 11900K has a base clock of 3.5 GHz, so it's barely able to run it above that and is hitting T-junction at 115c to do it. Sure sounds like this is more of a solution for a T-series CPU than an S-series one.

There are people who desire silence so much they don't care about the temperatures, as long as the PC is not crashing, of course. I guess if someone did use this cooler in a gaming PC, they would inevitably install a cooler and make a suitable profile for it, though. But if you never do anything heavy with the PC, maybe it doesn't matter. Just underclock to increase stability, if necessary. And don't get a 11900K, haha. I really don't think that CPU is a good match for a passive cooler.

i CAN confirm that a Ryzen zen 2 65w can work with light OC with an artic passive... This NH6-P1 have a way better dissipating ratio than the artic, so it should work perfect with Ryzen.

it's hollow with less fins than on CM Hyper 212 and less cooling power. It's going to perform bad on anything other than 4/8 or 6/6 core and even there it will perform meh. It will cost ~$100 it's noctua.

Yah i look at "compatibility" on my cpu, it "work" but also cause the clocks to drop under load what ever that means. It dont support my board so it dont matter, and no way would run pass on anything that runs more then 100watts which everything at this point most are almost double that on load at this point. and whole comment about they ment to run 90-100c made me loss respect for them

Just get a D15, and run fan at 500-600 RPM.

If you want a silent PC you can do it with fans and not sacrifice the silence. I have a case with 4 120mm fans and a CPU cooler with a 120mm fan. The noisiest component is the GPU when gaming, that will always be the bottleneck on a silent PC. Just slap a big cooler on a 65W TDP CPU, a good airflow case with at least 1 fan intake and 1 fan exhaust, and it will be silent. The GPU will always be the major noise source.

The noisiest component is the GPU when gaming, that will always be the bottleneck on a silent PC. Correct approach. I use 360 AC Freezer 2, ~700~800rpm (silent, 3x P12 with fluid bearing) and 2x AC P14 with fluid bearing @ ~700 rpm for exhaust on top (this can go even more down but I cant hear them anyway) and yes, I can only hear GPU while gaming if it goes over ~35% for fan speed. Everything is pretty cool. 9700 doing prime on small ffts with AVX left enabled ~60C Linx 10 passes ~62C

lf2 360,38mm thick is a lot to cool down a 9700 you would probably be fine running those fans at 400-500rpm to me this passive cooler looks like it's gonna work best with high pressure,highr airflow good intake

Gaming noise levels are UNBELIEVABLE. With 28 dBA, this is the quietest high-end card we've ever reviewed. Even at full load, it is barely audible—many cards are louder than that when they are sitting idle at the desktop.

@cucaulay malkin I haven't even tried lower rpm. Like I said, they are inaudible where they are now. My i7 9700 is a non K so it's not the best silicon, it gets pretty hot. Megahalems C2 did >10C worse job than this AIO ( >65C in games, yuck), and I do plan to upgrade the CPU to another non-K , at some point. Also, 360 was needed so the pump on the block wouldn't be the highest point. (I did not want to mount the rad on top of the case because I don't need ~200W worth of hot air "cooling" the rad (CPU) if I decide to game a bit 🙂 Thanks for the tip btw, I'll see how low these can go and will it change temps in a bad way...
