419$ for a chair that only lasts three years (due to gas cylinder giving up and PU material which deteriorates after 2.5 years for me). Nah, thanks, better get a cheap Ikea chair for a third of the price, also easier to get a hold on.

The HERO has not even been available from vendors for 2 years. And is the only brand I am aware of that I can purchase different gas cylinders, which I have after a year without issue but for a shorter version.

I have the leather version of it, relatively solid build but occasionally starts to squeak now when sitting. As far as back support goes it’s pretty mediocre, I’m switching to an HM Embody end of this month fortunately.

My current desk chair which cost me a 1000 is already 13 years old and still in good condition.

Quite the leap there.

I tried a "racing chair". It was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat in. I ended up buying an "executive" office chair and it works well. I work from home so I sit at my desk with my gaming PC all day.

"and the seat height is adjusted to suit the Japanese body shape" What?

What's confusing about that? Most products are designed to fit an average body size. In most cases for chairs this is the American average height and weight, but most products produced in Japan to be sold there are designed with the average Japanese person in mind instead, which is a little shorter and lighter than an American. Japan isn't exclusive to building their products for the local population rather than the larger US market, but they have a strong nationalist mindset and do so a lot more than usual. This is also the reason Playstation controllers are smaller than XBox controllers, as on average Japanese people's hands are smaller than an Americans.

See it as a long term investment, I spend a lot of time sitting on a daily basis and a good back is invaluable.

1st PU gaming chair didn't care about it, material flaked and started contaminating my living room with black particles everywhere 2nd PU gaming chair, once a year I use a kit sold by noble chair and I don't have that anymore, if you let the material get too dry it dies (in winter my home is super dry without an humidifier humidity is below 20%) https://www.noblechairs.com/accessories/premium-care-cleaning-kit I have an AKracing seat not even noble fyi works fine on it too I used the products three times and there's still some in the containers it spreads well you dont need a ton of it
