I love my shield and I hope Nvidia keeps up support for a long time.

I bought a Shield TV 2015 last year, it has the same hardware specs (and more ports) as 2017 model. His OS was upgraded from KitKat to MM and now it has Nougat.Oreo is also confirmed to arrive to all Shield TV models. Impressive support from Nvidia, no wonder this media player is the best on the market since it's 2015 launch and Nintendo Switch sports the same SoC ( X1 downclocked !). 😎

Oreo really doesn't have a whole lot over Nougat anyway.

Flashing is cool, but it's not for everyone. I prefer to keep all my devices at original stock settings (phones, tablet and laptop). Everything 'cept my PC rig is at manufacturer's settings.

Ditto. For example, I think that flashing other ppls OS image, and then using that device to do money and BTC transfers, might not be the smartest thing in the Universe 😉

Some devices are easier than others to flash, and even the device manufacturers will sometimes give you the tools to do so. My Moto G5 was very easy to do, and I only run Slim rom on it just like I have with my past devices. 🙂 Safe rom, huge community, always updated and supported.

LOL Moto G5, my first paid for mobile (yeah I got into it... rather late LOL) I investigated for a month, read everything I could find, be4 deciding G5 3rd gen. I took a lot of slack for it, with every1 laughing at my choice of Motorola. But I loved it to death, literately, it croaked on me after a month. But it didn't die completely. It would shut down, and stayed down(!) only when display going off (sleep) or when answering a call LOL. But I would be able to power it on by draining the battery to zero and doing some voodoo(like... no exact recipe to turn it on again, mostly spraying and praying) Did I flash it? Nope, it covered all my needs. Other than answering calls ROFL.

After I hard bricked my Galaxy S3, my fun with flashing roms came to an end. It only really seemed beneficial on dirt cheap phones anyways. Higher end phones, it's mostly just slapping on some new paint.

I've had mine since the G5 launched, and never had an issue with it. 🙂

You saying iG5, confused me a bit. Actually mine was Moto G (2015), aka 3rd gen. G5 could easily be confused for LG... or for a plane 🙂

Sorry, Moto G5. A lot of active development for it, and the camera is amazing! The only thing I run stock on it is the stock camera app actually.
