1000 nits with MLA seems low. Panasonic achieves that without MLA on their 2022 OLED TV lineup, this year they are announcing 1500 nits with MLA.

I'm perfectly happy with 1000 nits!

So there's this, the Asus and the LG so far. Wonder which is going to be the right one to get if you choose this display. 🙄

I really dont see a logic of paying $1000 for this 27" monitor when you can get LG C2 42" OLED for $700.
The C2 is 4k, i guess that for those that don't have a capable 4k GPU it would be a safer bet. But is someone can afford a 1000€ monitor, i suppose that have the money for a faster GPU... Oh well

Costs are a major thing but in the case with that screen is size, it's just simply too big. Most people just want 24"-27" cause how close they are to where it will be placed or simply no room.

It's way too big for most desks and is lower hz (120 vs 240).

Early adopter tax. Just watch all these 27" OLED monitors become $500 or less in a few years when the tech is ubiquitous.

I'm not, my face melts long before it hits 1000 every time. My current screen is the first OLED monitor I've had, and it actually can hurt my eyes. Even for a tiny peak highlight, 1000 borders on stupid unless it's literally in a sunlit room... then you'll actually need much higher.

Fortunately you can reduce peak brightness.
