AMD have a surprise for us. Cards will have have massive cache to help with memory bandwidth. 6900XT is underestimated which is good. Im sure it will match 3080, cost less and have much higher frame buffer. Talking about win win there.

1.how are you getting this information ? 2.how "massive" is it ? 3.how is underestimating a 6900xt going to help it ? and how is it underestimated ? there were reports of 50% over 2080Ti,that'd match a 3090. 4.how are you getting information about prices ?

I am looking for the RT performance. No mentioning of it... I am getting anxious...

sadly it doesn't look promising, max rtx 3070 performance for 6900x

Nvidia fanboys praying all over the net for rtx3080 beating 6900xt are gonna be harshly disappointed. Show some open mind to competition for once, your ego is outrageous. If it was in your hands you wouldn't allow 6900 to beat even 2080ti. Blindfolded kids are everywhere at this planet and age.

If the consoles are any indication then no cause for worry

Looks promising ! Radeon RX 6900 XT being twice the Radeon RX 6700 XT which is supposedly beyond the 5700 XT, we're clearly in 3080-3090 territory here.

Question is how and why. Even if it is close to 3090 and the XTX beats 3090, they have less features, less supported software and bad driver reputation. It should easily win nvidia's performance/watt ratio which is truly bad, but AMD should make money, I am waiting with realism and anxiety here.

It's very simple. these are placeholders... Newegg is NOWHERE in a position to be needing to know this. Why would AMD inform them this early?

About the prices: if you analyze price policy of AMD in the past years you realize that there is no gain buying their cards against nvidia... Lisa Su had stated that as AMD realizes its investments in graphics deliver significant value to gamers, the company has slowly been increasing the prices of its GPUs in recent years in an attempt to generate better margins. - so I wouldn't expect a "bargain" from them - Nidia having a difficult launch and so on... But damn that Radeon RX 6900 XT looks promising... I think that availability is now the key factor and Nvidia has big problems in this field. I try to imagine what would have happened IF Big Navi launched in the same period of time with Ampere knowing now the troubles that Nvidia has.

Go search guru3d reviews. Stock 6900XT due to better efficiency vs 5700XT should be more like up to twice the performance of 2070 Super instead of 5700XT(both gpus have 2560cores). Twice performance numbers of 2070Super make the gpu an absolute victor against 3080 RTX. End of story.

With those memory bandwidths they certainly would need some new trick. I guess it's a difficult situation for AMD if they couldn't plan for GDDR6X yet and HBM2 isn't financially feasible for these cards. Not to mention if they don't anymore want to go above 256 bit bus widths.

What interests me most about these is, very high clocks can be achieved. So, AMD can gain more performance at given die size . Another thing about the clock means some drastic architectural change and/or 7nm node maturity. I hope that 6800xt ( or whatever it is) with 2.5ghz and close to 13TFlops computational power will be able to fight with 2080ti as it is 30-40% faster than 5700xt.

Since I do not buy Nvidia I do not care if it beats a 3080 or 3090 anyway. Nvidia and AMD do not have the same prices. I ONLY care what the cost to performance ratio is compared to the last gen cards.

I'm quite sad about these "news". AMD wont be able to beat NVIDIA and will be 1 generation behind like most of the times. So expect a real competitor for 2080TI and maybe 10-15% increase here and there... if the prices are right (and I think they will) my next videocard will be AMD again.

Why? Outside of the drivers issues the 5700XT did not disappoint at all. I mean it's very damn close to a 2700 Super and in Canada it's actually less expensive than the 2060 Super. If you are looking for a 300-500$ GPU upgrade then there's no reason to expect AMD to disappoint when looking at the 5700XT unless the drivers issues are back but for now my 5700XT has been stable since last spring.

If you aren't spending $700+ for a video card, it doesn't really matter if AMD has the crown, does it? At $500 and below, AMD is in the game. For these to be "good" , all that matters is price/performance. If it's anything like the 5700XT was/is, these should sell pretty well.

This. It's just speculation on NewEgg's behalf. AMD's not trying to have it removed because it's just a guess based on previous scaling and likely inaccurate.
