Wifi 5 is already cheap, or am I missing something?

Even their Wi-Fi 6E Deco ones are expensive af. I don't think I'm ever going to find anything to replace my 2 x £40 Honor router 3 which are Wi-Fi 6.

Wifi5 mesh costs around 100€ for two units, that's not cheap. If you wanna go Wifi6 it's double that. Stuff ain't cheap. Even a simple wifi6 range extender is like 80€. PS: You can have wifi4 range extenders for less than 30€. So it's a big jump.

Just looking in Amazon, I can see the Wifi 5 RE200 for less than 30 € a piece, and the RE450 for less than 40 €... Doesn't seem so expensive. Wifi 6 RE505X is at 70 €. Not cheap, but not extremely expensive.

It's strange they don't offer an optional wall mounting kit for an excellent price of 199 dollars.

Nope, they'll use that premium 2,5 Ghz Quad core Broadcom platform, just like Tenda at its Wifi 7 router, TE60 Pro. And probably at a third of the price.

I already have Asus RT-AX56U. I paid 89 euros for it. I has been rock solid, despite not being roq. What I appreciate a lot is that it boots up really fast, so I don't need to wait for it forever, like is often the case with the junk ISPs love. That being said, the reason I bought it was because my ISP gave me a Huawei router. I don't need the Chinese intelligence service checking every website I visit, so I had to get something else.

Ended up with a Deco-X60, pricey but shortly after I posted this one of them began to fail.

I honestly don't see the point of buying the latest and greatest when it comes to Wifi. The the kind of money top end routers cost, you can easily build yourself a far superior PFSense router with a couple of access points and have actual control of your network. Not to mention being able to block ads at the router and many other great features.
