Oh boy , these will be good. This could be good option for someone that want DDR5 board for future upgrades. You can buy cheap CPU that still will handle 99% of games well and later upgrade.

I expect that percentage of 4c handling games well is much lower this days.

its 8T , powerful threads , it is still enough , for most game more than enough , it's not like everyone runs R6900 or 3090... and plays 1080p medium settings. All current games can run well on 8T, sometimes in rare occasion you can get some hiccup if you run high end GPU . I finished CP2077 which people claim its CPU demanding on 3300X +R6800 on 1080p . I noticed shuttering ( micro) only in few spots in the game , and it was still very playable.

Its playable but you can definitely see the usage goes to 100% it effects the minimum framerate and which kinda makes the game stuttery. One should aim for 6c/12 in 2021 atleast.

I still go for i512400 for gaming , but these i3 could be nice budget CPUs , they look very solid .

None of the games I play use more than 4 threads. In fact my top two use 3 and 2 respectively.

7600k can only be used for some office work today. Nice purchase lol :P

League or valorant i assume. Then you dont need 2080ti.

Yeah, id actually say 8c/16t for a new cpu minimum, cause otherwise you are running lower specs than the new consoles, which WILL give you issues once we get past this cross-gen era, and onto new games purely being made for ps5/xbox series x and pc.

Im gona sell my 5600X next year ( or maybe later) and swap for 3D cache offering . If its nessesary . Blessing of AM4 - the king of "futureproofnes" - lol.

Transport Fever 2 and Farming Simulator, actually. Both surprisingly taxing on the GPU. My other top games (ETS2 and ATS) use up to 4 threads. I don't remember the last time I played a multi-core intensive game for more than a couple of hours. All the AAA titles bore me to tears. Other than being pretty, their stories have all been told before.

AMD is indeed in a disadvantageous position here because AMD 5000 series' competitor is Intel 11th gen, not this new 12th gen. As long as AMD is unable to release a new generation, Intel is free to celebrate its edge leisurely. I suppose this is where its best shown that your own fabs are sometimes of great value.

Exactly what I am gonna do myself. Eventhough I am rather gpu bound at 3440x1440 100hz, even with a 6800xt. A lot of times I am avg 26% usauge avg in most games. Capped at 100fps.

I dont think 11th gen was competitive actually people ware calling it waste of sand for a reason. Amd has also enjoyed a full year domination in desktop cpu market before alder lake.

Both work fine in single thread...

The 10 and 11th is VERY competitive on office due to motherboard of good quality with H410 or H510 around 40 Euro... Exemple: Celeron 40 Euro and MSI H510 at 47 Euro for 87 Euro you have a inexpensive Windows 11 upgrade for office (despite any W10 PC with 4g of ram, can run W11 when you know how to boot it...) For game and everyday i am more AMD for now, socket 1700 is still too new for now we will see in 2022...

I don't mean it in a philosophical sense. Intel 11th gen was meant to be Intel's response to Ryzen 5000 series in a business sense. These series were released within a few months of each other. Of course if AMD manages to release a new, competitive series within a few months, the situation would be the same, again, but that remains to be seen. AMD indeed enjoyed a good year because Rocket Lake wasn't super impressive. What I'm basically saying is that if AMD manages to get new products out relatively soon, that's Alder Lake's competitor, not the old Ryzen 5000. What I also said is that despite having more time to get a new product out, AMD didn't do it, which might be a result of the lack of manufacturing capacity. Might be.

4 cores are dead for gaming, these are only good for office use (or if you play old games or indie stuff).
