The prep work they are doing to help them sell the company is very impressive.

We couldn't even get to a third reply without someone being negative.. Classic Guru3D.

He writes the same crap in every single star citizen thread. When they weren't showing new content he said it's a scam, now they are showing new content he's saying it's a bid to sell the company. Now he'll talk about looking forward to reviews. And honestly he could be right about all of it, but I'm sick of reading it.

Anyone following this project even with half an eye open will be very aware of the incredible dedication everyone at CIG have to put in such continuous passionate levels of detailed work. The really slow part of the project where all the stages are so isolated reducing appearance of progress are mostly behind them now, finally leading to bigger and bigger jumps in what the game will allow us to do. The fun part of the development ride has already started now in these months leading up to the release of Alpha 3.0 this summer where we start to see the true foundations of a playable Persistent Universe which allows maybe character trades to experience their first real gameplay. Even the amount of work that goes into producing the Monthly Studio Report that helps us see how progress is going is pretty incredible: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/15900-April-Monthly-Studio-Report The OPs linked video starts to really show off some impressive areas of the game, even LoobyLuggs is saying "nice things" now 😉

Be careful what you ask for. They'll need to raise another $100 million for this feature and spend another 10 years development.

Hahaha, this guy gets it. I wanted to believe this game would one day become a reality but after a couple years waiting and CIG making 0 progress towards this being a playable experience, I finally got my refund.

Well, I did miss out on the last piece of propaganda, and I think it got to the 3rd page before I replied, so just making up for it here 🙂 CR and the Digital Anvil incident, where he did a Peter Molyneux and said the game was going to be amazing to people who backed him, only for the company to be sold by him. The new owner did a mop-up job, and released what they could from the game as it was developed upto the point of purchase. Now, please read this article and tell me if anything said in this article sounds remotely familiar from 2002: https://archive.is/20061207184615/http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=27412 So, my point is consistent with what he has done in the past, albeit quite cheekily by me; but he did sell his company to Microsoft, and he did make promises that were never kept. He also blamed everyone else because of his hubris. He's not a god, and neither is Peter Molyneux. If this game does turn out to be poorly received, there are only 3-5 options to him: 1) Blame the reviewers..."you can't sum up this game in the normal amount of time a reviewer spends on a game"... 2) Blame the lack of funds..."If only we had another $150million"... 3) Blame the naysayers..."they artificially lowered review scores"... 4) Blame the staff/corporate politics..."Some staff members (who will not be named, ever) halted development of the very things you really wanted to see, and so did I"... 5) Blame technology..."The technology does not exist to accurately depict my vision, in the way I thought (or was led) to believe it would"... This is all on the assumption the game does actually get released, but if it doesn't - there is a very real possibility the company/game/IP will be sold to another company. I say this because it has happened before. But wait...what am I saying? I mean, you know all of this, do you not? Am I not preaching history to the choir here? Are we all old enough to remember the end of the 16 bit era and the move into the 32 bit era? Do we all not remember who sold Digital Anvil? That he took the money? And kept on the payroll as a 'consultant'? Surely, surely, the Guru3D forums are smart enough (pun intended) to see through the BS?

Great project and SC Community We backers have seen prophecies of Doom (with even very precise dates...) every single year since a certain incompetent indie developer declared war against his intimate ennemy Chris Roberts. A two decades hater campaign focusing to try to hurt CR through SC Community. He failed as usual 🙂 We got so much lies and attempt to offuscate readers... &ll 100% proven false! The team count increase by 40 more in the last 6 months... and not because some are leaving (normal turnover in industry is around 5 to 7%) For Readers interested in numbers that explain from where SC is coming from just have a look below. To summarize, everything is fine. Squadron 42 Chapter 1 will get a schedule release later this year (release expected mid-2018 so 5 years and half a year for a AAA starting from scratch... not bad) and Star Citizen (MMO) is receiving huge patch (full moon with seemless landing and walking... in 4 K if you Graphic Card can handle it) by July this year and of course much more following. New backers are coming by thousands every month bringing on average 2 M$ of new pledges...CIG was supposed to collapse in 2015 according to a well informed clown 🙂 In short. Great project, with a great team, fully under control with +500.000 backers and growing every single day. – Employees count: Nov. 2012 end of Kickstarter: Chris Roberts and around 10 people 2013: 48 (Austin: 34 – LA: 14) 2014: 161 (Austin: 55 – LA: 38 – Manchester: 68) 2015: 258 (Austin: 57 – LA: 41 – Manchester: 132 – Frankfurt: 28) 2016: 363 (Austin: 54 – LA: 64 – Manchester: 191 – Frankfurt: 54) 2017: 428 (April) – Pledges chart: 2012 end of Kickstarter on Nov.: goal was 2M$. They got 6M$… 2012: 7M$ 2013: 35M$ 2014: 68M$ 2015: 104M$ 2016: 140M$ 2017: 148M$ (April) – Citizens count (not the Backers count which is estimated to +500.000 individual) 2012: 103.000 2013: 340.000 2014: 705.000 2015: 1.150.000 2016: 1.700.000 2017: 1.796.000 (April)

To a person that doesn't know what they are talking about sure.
data/avatar/default/avatar07.webp
Well, the game is nowhere near to being playable after 5 years... and Mr. Roberts is about to blow up lol, next year we will have Jabba the Hut doing the video

Uhh, dude I was a backer since 2012. I know exactly what I'm talking about. Chris roberts probably laughs himself to sleep every night at people like yourself.
