If there was ever a case where'd you price your premium product for $1000 instead of $999, this would be it.

I hope it's just premium. I'd rather buy just the device for $699 and attach screen protection and case myself.

They need to add a note - " 40% worth of branding is included into the cost ".

Ugh... I'm glad phones don't excite me anymore.

I'm just happy that practical phones remain to be the cheap ones. Sure, I'd appreciate having a true 8MP camera and maybe a 720p display (some of you are probably gasping at how "horrible" that sounds) but at least my phone cost $45 and I pay roughly $15 a month for my service, all while having a battery that lasts me from 4-6 days (depending on usage), a screen that won't shatter, and bezels where I can actually see the entire screen while holding it. Seriously, I don't understand what the obsession is with bezel-less screens. Sure, it looks nice, when you're not touching it.

I don't really get the hate for Iphone, sure it's stupidly overpriced, but it's simple and the money guarantee a good build quality. For many technical morons it's much more preferable than anything with android as there are plethora of versions and budget phones that are pretty crap and they naturally don't understand the difference in HW. So one version Iphone with the standart function, plus the whole apple ecosystem is just perfect for them.
On the other hand, it's quite amazing that the first Iphone was at 600$ for top model (and quickly discounted to 400$) and ten years later it's a whooping 1k. Still, bet they'll have no problems selling those.

I cannot even fathom spending $1,000 on a phone. I hate even spending $200-$300. ~$150 these days gets you a pretty good smartphone, ~$50, a great flip/bar phone. There's clearly a market and plenty of people who believe they're getting a "free" upgrade on their overpriced phone plans (you already overpaid for that "freebie").
Pocket computers peaked (for me) with the Galaxy S3. Since then, I am unmoved by the progress. If I hadn't bricked that phone (S3), I'd still be using it. 4.8" 720p screen, took decent pics and felt pretty snappy.

That is a very expensive telephone.

Do these people not know you can pick up a phone and screen protector from Tesco or Asda for £60, that can also send text's, call people with, surf the net, listen to your music, and use apps. lol
