These companies really need to stop using model numbers that are the same or very similar to to past products. There was already a Xeon W 3K series... it was 1st gen i7s, the server Bloomfield chips, more or less the same thing but the typical server stuff like ECC support and triple channel memory. I had one since Intel were selling reject i7 products at the time that had abysmal overclocking (and remember, back then the OC headroom was HUGE), and the only real way to avoid those reject samples flooding the market was to special order a server part, at least in Canada. I had a W3530 that OC'd far beyond what should be a higher clocking chip in the i7-960 (which Intel were selling at half the original MSRP since they started selling the reject samples). People thought they were actually getting a nice price on an Intel CPU for once, instead they got parts that failed to pass the initial requirements to be sold.
