Carrizo is based on the Bulldozer family of CPU cores, it will also feature an updated graphics core next, GCN with much better (up-to double) graphics performance whilst haveing a very low performance to watt ratio. Carrizo will be the first SOC to get full HSA support. Carrizo would also get higher clock speeds than its predecessor APUs.
Where did this come from? Higher IPC. Higher performance per watt. Lower total power consumption. And all this while increasing clocks? Is AMD selling i5's now? J/K But wonder about source.

Looks very interesting and promising.

Can not wait to jump on the AMD bandwagon again.

Bulldozer just won't die, will it? I just wish OEMs weren't treating AMD chips like they do nowadays. No wonder AMD can't get through with the message, when there are no laptops with the best Kaveri chips around and if they are, they are in some cheap disposable craptop. But hey, I bet "partnership" with Intel pays better. And worst of all, still no mention of Zen.

We won't see it until 2016 at the earliest. Given AMD's long history of delayed/late releases, it could be as late as 2017/2018....

My opinion is AMD needs to scrap their desktop division and focus on APUs and GPUs and mobile. That's where they appear to be doing the best at right now.

AMD just needs to focus on developing a viable architecture and actually getting it to market on time for once. Launching a product 2+ years LATE negates any benefits that the architecture could provide. Bulldozer would have been fine, had it launched on time and not years late.

I agree with this. But wait what? Bulldozer? :bang: So it gets Bulldozer over Steamroller or maybe Excavator? Maybe it's me, but something isn't right. Or might this be Phenom II all over again? Revised Bulldozer cores capable of actually doing something? Let's hope for something interesting.
