damn... that's the perfect projector I've been waiting for but the price is just too high... that'll be 10k Canadian.... 5k and i'd buy it right away.

I keep looking and hoping too. Still that is cheaper than I was expecting for a laser based projector with that many lumens! Probably another couple of years for prices to really start dropping, when prices about halve I'll be buying đŸ™‚

Why not get 4x 1080p projectors? You can get some of those for a few hundred dollars. Unlike LCD displays, projectors don't suffer from bezels, so it's relatively easy to get the image quality you want by just simply buying more than one. Pretty much every 4K compatible GPU these days supports 4 displays. There are benefits to buying multiple projectors too. For example, you can more effectively do a curved display without screwing up focal points too much.
