MyDigitalSSD has been selling products through Amazon for a while now. They seem to get reasonable reviews from buyers.

Thats extremely good pricing for the 240gb models, whats the catch?

I've heard of mydigitalssd and have bought a couple things for my old Dell mini in the past but I didn't know they make their own ssd's. I'm assuming its just a rebrand of something else, but of what?

Yeah thats why i'm skeptical, hope they didn't do the ol switcharoo like kingston did with the V300 ssd's.

Mediocre random read speed and poor random write speeds when queue depth is low (which is usually closer to real world usage than, say, than 32 queue benchmark). And Phison controller... Good for sequential reads & writes but in heavy usage it struggles.

What would poor random read/write speed effect in a real world-situation?

Well, that's pretty much what real word performance is all about. If you use it as OS & software disk. If you just use it as storage then it doesn't matter. It's not (especially random write performance) as critical for games since random read/write would still be much faster than on any HDD and often games just read large packed files.
