I like how they tout the high quality capacitors that have a 72 year life instead of the standard ones that have a 22 year life. Really? Who uses a gaming card for more than 2-5?

If you run those capacitors above certain temp. idk 80-85c, it will go down x4-10, btw 72years is for hi-c cap (a little diff. and smaller), but yeah its still bizarre number xD Well at least its build kinda robust, so you know it will be stable.

Sure, but what value does it provide? If the card is going to last 10 years max as designed from AMD who the heck keeps a PC for gaming that long? To me it just adds unnecessary cost.

I do really like and want one. I only have a 1080p 25inch lcd but this would give me alot of gpu power and last quite a while with just one. A R9 290 would make me a very happy guy.

Resale value maybe? I can't imagine a card that runs at 80 degrees with load as a standard is going to depreciate in value at the normal rate of GPUs.

IDK if this is related or I'm just being tech illiterate, but my Sapphire 7970 has this nasty coil whine that scales with GPU load (my first GPU to ever had this problem). So I assume that higher quality coils mean less possibility of such minor defects.

When are these going on sale? Havnt seen them in a e-tailer yet. I found this on NCIX's website.
This item is not yet available but you can pre-order this now. We will ship this product shortly after its estimated arrival date of 02/26/2014. The final price is subject to change. You will be charged for this item once the ETA is confirmed by the manufacturer.
I might just be forced to jump on the nvidia bandwagon.. I cant wait that long.. The asus dcii sounds like it wont be ready to Feb. also.

All the aftermarket cards are coming mid January.

Its seems to be taking a while for these non-ref cards to hit retail. Feb is just too long. Was expecting somewhere around early Jan.

Why they should release feb if they are already out ? Pre-order ETA: 10/01/14 @ overclockers.
