Only 240 zones. I was expecting more.

So instead of proper per pixel contrast (like OLED), we're looking at something like a 20x12 grid of transitional muddy contrast gray zones in between everything. Bleh.

There is a 15.6" 4K OLED display panel from Samsung Display, which was announced in early 2019 (official PR).
For additional US$800, you can order it with a few high-end laptops like Dell XPS 15 (7590), Alienware m15 and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme.

So it's essentially FALD for laptop screens. I'll take it! As long as there are enough zones, it should be a huge improvement over any edge-lit displays.
It would be nice, but 240 seems like a good starting point for 15" and 17" screens. Most affordable 65" TVs don't break 120 zones (those that do cost $$$$). 240 zones on a small laptop screen will likely have little to no haloing or weird transitions.
