I wish they shaved RGB off as well prosumers don't really care about that.

So you mention the cost of some other X399 mobo's (400 euro's) and the cost of the ROG Zenith mobo(600 euro's) but don't tell us how much this one is likely to be... I also agree with SilAntoines comment about RGB on a prosumer devices

But with RGB led you can OC as hell, much more than without... Also the CPU can handle more work, and you have better chance to win at lottery... LOL RGB led is as neon in the 00'

yeah i agree with all posters. i bought the carbon ac as it was the least expensive mobo available. the "mystic lights" are anything but. i have some turned on (in white) as it went into a "murdered out" (black on black) scheme in a Phanteks Eclipse P400 tempered glass. granted that also would make all the pretty lights more vibrant, i'm not sitting at a workstation smoking pot all day. i have no problem with that, its just not the purpose of a threadripper system. a ryzen or i-5 based system would let you play a bit better anyways...with games or flashing lights.

Yeah I didn't get into the neon craze back then either I find RGB on anything these days is just a right to charge more gimmick I'd rather have the choice of not having them than just the choice to turn them off

Don't want the RGB turn them off, that's your choice they trying to cater to as much of the market as possible.

At least with RGB you can pick 1 static color. I chose white with my X370 board. I dont want a disco party in my case.

RGB idiotism grows more and more idiotic, with each generation of hardware, each iteration of graphics cards, mobos... I do understand it being of certain aesthetic value and functionality when applied to PC cases or/and PC/hifi audio devices, but to see it on a mobo that is, allegedly aimed at "pros" is but plain stewpid...

But you're still paying for the privilege of having them even if you don't want them and turn them off just how much money could you save on a mobo without them a $399 mobo could well be only worth $320 without the RGB LED's why would you want to pay a premium for something if don't want to use them

You are saving pennies, there is alot more on RGB boards, typically the RGB boards use higher grade board more PCB layers, beefier VRM more features etc, thats where the increased costs comes from. Not LED's.
