For that Price, I would just build few desktop systems and leave them in places I move between.

These are stupidly priced lol and on top of that the i7-8850H (non-HK) is a locked CPU meaning on the lines of 2.6-4.3GHz. Sure 4GHz on 6 core is plenty and cooling will be limited but for the price you're paying I'd want an unlocked CPU lol. At this point I'd probably just bring with me a regular powered laptop w/ an external GPU rather than lugging that giant thing around. I personally have a GT73VR Titan and already have heads turning when I go through airport checks haha and mine is a 17.3" compared to this laptop at 18.4". I was always pro desktop and never thought of the need for a laptop till I got one, very convenient when you travel around but at some point you'll miss the maximum power you can get from a desktop without having to worry a lot on cooling department but the GT83 as well as those laptops with built in keyboards/wide screens/sli setup is just a bit much lol

The main issue I have with systems like this is - Price. For the same price (much cheaper in fact) you can get a TOP notch laptop, add an external GPU case + Top end GPU, and get a much better offer for Less. The benefit of this will be an ability to upgrade it (GPU wise).

I wonder if the battery will last long enough to get into desktop.

My ASUS with a 1070 and a i7 can last about 1 hour on battery which isn't too bad in my opinion (this is gaming more around 2.5-3 hours for general use). I could see this doing about the same given it likely has a larger capacity battery.

I'd go a step further and say that $7000+ makes it a hard sell, even against other DTR laptops. You could configure a clevo laptop with a desktop 8700k, dual 1080's, and similar specs for around $2000 less (you could drop that a little more if you're comfortable buying most of the parts and assembling the barebones yourself...).

This has six cores and 1080 SLI, are you sure it will last an hour?

No point in buying a laptop for 6 grand. You can build a top of the range desktop AND buy a mid range laptop with a GTX 1060 in it and still have money left over instead.

My KL i7 and this CL i7 are likely under the same power envelope and the 1080 and 1070 consume close to the same power. On the 1920x1080 screen they likely will be nowhere close to 100% usage. The Titan laptops have a larger capacity battery than my ASUS. My ASUS has a 4 cell the MSI has an 8 cell. So yes I do thing it will last and hour gaming.

You have 4 cores and a single 1070, not 6 cores and SLI 1080. This laptop has a mechanical drive (amongst SSD) and a 4k screen.

Your understanding of this is very basic I can see. DT 7700k vs. 8700k is about +25% more power under FULL LOAD. DT 1070 vs 1080 ~12% difference in power under FULL LOAD. A 1070 will max out usage in 1080p @120Hz 1080 SLI will not (most of the time will be around 65% load). Theoretical scenario. DT #1 uses a 7700k and 1070 and consumes 380W @ 1080/120Hz (CPU 87w GPU 290) DT #2 uses a 8700k and 1080 sli and consumes 450W @ 1080/120Hz no SLI and 519W @1080/120Hz (because usage of each GPU will be around 65% with average SLI scaling) Now IF you could fully utilize the SLI system power consumption would be 775w which is 15W more than double system #1 or 2% difference in power. So with that in mind this laptop has twice the battery capacity but is not using twice the amount of power.

Nope its a full HD display 120Hz that is what current 1080sli Titan laptops are using. Also my laptop has an nVME SSD and HDD combo.

Oh yeah definitely, I just remembered about clevo/sager and other laptops w/ desktop cpus after I posted xD Yeah I would go for those if I was in the market for one. I honestly only need just a 6 core and my laptop upgrades are going to be done and I'll go back to pure desktop gaming. I'll probably go for the i9 8950HK + 20-series nvidia GPU.. only because I'm on MSI's upgrade list, after that I'll be done with laptop gaming for a while, maybe invest in external GPU if i needed.

Very doubtful.
