That's pretty wild how many more watts this card has to pull to get that 10% on average FPS improvement. Went from 208 watts for a stock 3070 to 308 watts for this 3070 Ti. Almost 50% more power for 10% performance. I was waiting for the 3070 Ti but I think the plain 3070 is going to be my 1440p card. Back on the hunt.

I think this and FE review shows once again ( if we assume availability and retail pricing was "normal") what good value the 3080 is. This 3070ti is cheaper but I think most people who are going to be able to afford the 3070ti would have saved a bit more more for the 3080 considering the extra performance etc.
Also, people who could not afford the 3080 but could the 3070 probably would not want to push to the 3070ti as percentage wise it is a big jump for the performance on offer. Normally I think the ti series from nVidia are pretty desirable, but now I think their 3080 and 3070 are better bang for buck.
Of course this is all theoretical with the current situation, but if things return to normal I would probably be looking at the 3070.

Huge disappointment. Only 2 SM more and 5% faster than 3070. Yet 20% more expensive. Price is right between 3070 and 3080, but performance is nearly same as 3070. So basically once again Nvidia bumped prices up.
It should have 56 or 58 SM, not 48 SM.

With the 100 dollars extra in the MSRP, this card is a joke. Nobody should buy this, unless they have lots of money, desperately need a card, and this is the only one available.

What a worthless SKU. I get sick reading anything about graphics cards these days. It’s bad and you can’t even get it.

Thank you very much for the review HH!
I remember those days when a **70 TI could get almost as the **80 version with some little overclock. This is the worst rtx 30 from the series until now

Steam coming out of my ears (!!) with everyone involved, incl retailers like Newegg, selling cards for upwards of $2K US. Will I buy *any* GPU silicon from these industry-wide colluding crime bosses? Absolutely not. Don't even THINK abut blaming China or crypto either: it's way more widespread thievery in motion. Check with me in a couple of years.

Nice review. I guess NVidia's next trick will be to make BSOD drivers.

Finally managed to get a 3070 TI FE a couple of weeks back though paid a £140 over MSRP...yes scammers tax but not as bad as I am seeing as now the prices at at the £900 +++ which is terrible for gamers who just want a decent GPU...And to be honest if we could get the new GPU's at MSRP, this would be a great time for gamers from the 3060 TI, 3070, 3070 TI, 3080, 6600, 6700 XT and 6800.
But at MSRP and even with the $100 additional over the RTX 3070, the 3070 TI is one hell of a GPU, beating the RTX 2080 TI (near on half the price of the launch 2080 TI) and coming close to a 6800 which is an enormous performance increase over the RTX 2070 and even the 2080. Very impressed with the performance on an Ultrawide 1440p monitor as it just crushes games..
Now if I was into conspiracy theories, maybe Nvidia and even AMD think they launched the new GPU's from everything up to the 3080 and 6800 at too low a price and are now artificially increasing prices through the AIB's as the AIB models MSRP's are absurdly priced..
SKU AIB price AMD MSRP Difference
AORUS Radeon RX 6800 XT Master Type C 16G Gigabyte MSRP US$899 AMD MSRP US$649 Difference US$250
Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC 16G Gigabyte MSRP US$849 AMD MSRP US$649 Difference US$200
AORUS Radeon RX 6800 Master 16G Gigabyte MSRP US$719 AMD MSRP US$579 Difference US$140
