The PCB has traces for eight memory chips, across a 256-bit wide memory bus, although only six of them are populated with memory chips, making up 6 GB over a 192-bit bus. The GPU's package substrate, too, is of the same size. It's likely that NVIDIA is using a common substrate, with an identical pin-map between the TU106 and TU116, so AIC partners could reduce PCB development costs.

But that we know from looking. What we so not know is if that TU116 has native 192bit or 256bit IMC. There is good chance that it is cut down. Selling lower chips 1st is always more profitable as it creates faster refresh desires. (And results in higher total sales even within one generation of GPUs.)

Wouldn't hold my breath on the 1660/ti being a high performer, if these are of any indication(looks set to replace the GTX1060, with of pinch of salt of course). Deluding or not in the games that I play 1060 6GB has better performance 🙂 I'm honestly happy to see RX580 shine a bit in new games but it should have shined years ago ... even now it's still a midrange card that can't do 1440p properly even in most of the games it actually forced me to buy the 1070GTX since 1060 6GB and RX580 8GB were not capable of 2K gaming either way. This is like the last breath of a dying man that grasps for air (RX580/590) since Vega is here for quite a while... and soon the next generation. 1080p gaming became entry level sadly for me (I was happy at 1080p until I've seen 2K ... I don't even want to try 4K gaming because I don't want to sell my house). I work on a Mac 8 hours / day with 5K res of the 27inch models and I don't dare to start a game with R9 380 2GB 😀 I don't like repeating myself but I own all these cards so my opinion is not based on hate towards a brand or model is just what I've seen with my own eyes in my specific situation.
