It's a value marketing made up, LCD's wont ever have 1ms total transition time avg throughout all transitions without abhorrent overshoot.

so many panel have this issue, and new odsey VA panel zero overshoot but look at how bad response time. and if turn off VVR and use faster? look at how bad that overshoot is and it ok resonse time but still high for VA my VA TV has faster Response time at 60hz and zero overshoot Lower response time and zero overshoot is what most panel maker should be aiming for I very close to buying IPS panel or even R-ips panel 4 k monitor if i can find one, but i just know i gona regert it cause ips glow that make back bleed clouding so much worse that led/lcd panel suffer from

Yep, often even the medium overdrive setting at maximum refresh rate already introduces severe overshoot. So stupid, how can you find bright halos any better than more blur... I'd argue it's even worse.

Two relatives of mine got the Dell G3223Q, and both devices astonishingly have zero bleeding (yes, really none whatsoever). They of course still have glow, but it's close to the optimum of what's possible with regular IPS. Contrast with uncalibrated white (a bit yellow though) also is relatively good 1200:1. Though it seems the Nvidia Windows driver completely messes up VRR via DP (blanking out) with that monitor, it works via HDMI 2.1. For whatever reason, it also works with the Nvidia Linux driver also via DP...

There is reason I still using my TN Asus VS248 (h no p at end) it response time are still better then most VA/IPS panel and the only backlight bleed it has is on right side edge bought side of my fist. IPS have been proven to have almost no glow or uneven back like clouding, IPS panel apple phone use proven that., good ips panel (not r-ips) can be better the VA TV panel and close my current TN panel, but getting that with next to no glow and no overshoot or back light bleed is a crap shoot, i payed 250 back in day for this monitor i not will to pay much more then that to worse response time or worse over shoot or worse bleeding and ips glow. IF i had to choose Blur or bright halo, back light bleed or what ever you want call I will choose to stay with my current monitor till it dies and have no choice but to get new one. Really wish the monitor industry got there act together stop charge arm and leg for what amount to a roulette on panel quality. My uncle has IPS panel that has LESS backlight bleed then current monitor and almost not exist and ips glow or atlest it even enough to not notice it it response time and as result worse then my monitor bout on par to VA pane in terms of blur i motion which "could" deal with. but any ips panel monitor i "bought" have all been worse then my current monitor which why set them back and still have almost 20 year old monitor. Serisouly cant wait to oled/,mirco led drop down in price more, But like said I would "like" to see r-ips panel for 60 hz monitors but i dont see that happen anymore then quality VA panel seing those seem to reserved to curved monitors
