$1300 is enough for a whole desktop PC, even if not with a remarkable graphics card included, or a really nice laptop. It really must be a mobo that will make your friends get down on their knees to worship your PC.

Surely this will come with gold and diamonds.

Whoa!! Lol! I mentioned the X670E in another thread. I might rethink that one.

Same here. I'm dreading the higher end Asus boards. Is this ever going to be expensive with new DDR5, motherboard, CPU and next gen graphics cards.

That it is. I definitely agree. The only reason I'm upgrading is due to the huge performance leaps in hardware. I will play it safe and wait for accurate benchmarks and performance test but I'm still preordering. I was impressed with the Ryzen 7000 showing and the DDR5 ram speeds to go along with it. All the boast about the 4090 has won me over but I want to see it in action. I'm not really interested in what it does at 1080p. I want to see what it does @4K with Raytracing and max settings.

Ive got £1500 set aside for a new CPU/MOBO and 64GB of DDR5, looks like il be using all of it. DDR5 is currently £450, maybe £400 or less when I'm ready to buy.

It’s the Titan of motherboards, you buy it to flex your net worth, not because you need it. Settle down.

That's cool. My current system is an Alienware build so I have to buy all new parts. I going to grab my case and power supply probably tomorrow. My RAM will probably be this week also. Then I gotta play the waiting game for the CPU, Mobo and GPU. I better be careful with grabbing ram early due to possible compatibility issues. My cooling is going to be quality. Low temps are very important for performance and lifespan. My CPU and GPU are at 28c and 29c as I'm typing this which is awesome for an Alienware. I swapped the fans and added an extra one. 😉 The radiator is much quieter while gaming.

These prices are ridiculous. The Pro-Carbon version used to be a mid-range board...now it costs $480.00?!

What have mobo makers been smoking for the past few years?

the same as GPU card manufacturers: they enjoyed the crazy expensive prices of the last 2 years. I expect that they will all experience an NVIDIA like situation. But then they might not, if people are buying who are we to say the prices should be different?

I'd rather buy a server motherboard in that case and just cover it in RGB. At least then there's a reason for it to be so expensive.

I would love to know that because the way prices of MBs have exploded is hard to believe!...

let's be real all of these are the Extreme (except for the Pro), which is unnecessary for even most of us. the X670 Pro is more in line with an upper mid-level board and is priced the same. they haven't even announced the "Gaming" or the "Bazooka" x670 in any case MSI is making sure all of the "extreme" boards are extreme. i know for a fact there will be lots of X670 mobos in the $250 range., including Asus and Gigabyte

... when just the mobo costs more than your neighbor's entire gaming PC + peripherals.

Lot of buck for what... 1% performance increase.

MSI ace for me this far 1) doesn't have an M.2 "cooler" 1mm away from a "fires of hell" gpu backplate 2) actually has the space for a gpu backplate waterblock 3) has 1x 10gbe which I need and no 2nd port that nobody uses and that wastes chipset bandwith for nothing 4) 8x rear usb-a I need that too 5) they brought a most welcome feature from their TRX40 boards...the 2 power plugs are on the top RIGHT, no more having to destroy my fingers to plug or unplug those 6) it's not asus..all their z690 boards have defects not only the recalled ones also they have the reverse of everything I mention above @TheDeeGee hopefully much more than 1% but you're right that the prices are too much 😏you can get an X570 crosshair VIII dark hero for roughly 368$ where I live it's a great motherboard for the equivalent in X670 I will probably pay more than double that in my country, my fps aren't doubling this is certain

More and more I get the feeling that AMD and their partners have forgotten how to properly do PC stuff. CPUs seem high in price but generally affordable, but mainboards these gen look hilariously overpriced to the point I'm close to buying a discounted 5800X3D system with DDR4 and save about 2000€ 😱

Those two right there.
