Yey! No more overheating RAM/SSD! Now question is... will it accept DDR5-6000 speeds? I'm looking at the "Kingston Fury Impact XMP 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL38 SODIMM", but they are double the price of the "Kingston Fury Impact PnP 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MT/S DDR5 CL40 SODIMM" and I know that RDNA3 really likes high speed RAM.

Finally a true 1080p gaming tiny box , so much power under the hood. ddr5 made all the difference on this one. I might retire my ASRock deskmini and get one of this. i like it a lot 🙂

Very nice little machine. I have a bunch of Minis repurposed as Proxmox servers, and they are good. Only thing is missing is the BIOS updates. Nothing for an almost 2 year model.

As a quick comment, I got confirmation that, if UM690 can run nicely with DDR5-6000, so it also shouldn't be a problem for UM790.

You might want to take a look at their official forum. I've seen on Reddit quite a few links to the official forum's site to BIOS updates. It's said that it's all but easy to navigate through their forum, but info is there one way or another.

Il grab something like this next time e I'm in the UK but not sure whether to go for Minisforum or Beeline. It will be attached to my main room TV for media and streaming to replace a 1060 based W10 laptop. I need 4k@120fps with HDR capability.

Minisforum is traditionally more silent than Beelink, but the UM790 has an extra fan in the bottom (which is actually necessary), so let's see if it still holds true. It's still unknown if it brings 4K@120Hz, but... if it doesn't, it would be somewhat of a letdown.
