I'll still defend them. Everybody makes mistakes. They've got a great product, the best one available, and eventually there will be far more than a billion devices using it.

Changing the function of the cancel/close X button to accept the update and install it in the background was no mistake

Windows still has a long road to improve as a desktop OS. With Windows 10 I still feel I have a mix (and a mess) of all the windows versions (ancients and moderns) in one package.
Of course it's my favorite desktop OS. But it has a lot of flaws...(for instance...when using 2 monitors with different scaling percentage, one of the two monitors doesn't scale properly).
It could be replaced in a future less limited [Android+ChromeOS] or [OSX+iOS] if they open to more hardware (not gonna happen in Apple).
Of course, there's is always Linux for the pros.

Man MS finally admitted that they were wrong in the way they were pushing the Windows 10 update. I give them props for at least admitting that they were wrong, however the damage has been done.
In my opinion Windows 10 is the best version of Windows since XP while Windows 7 is a close 2nd. MS has really improved upon the memory management system. I do not have to restart any PC that I own with Windows 10 as much as I did with Windows 7.

Good. Now that they admitted their wrongs with the aggressive marketing and the force-down-your-throat strategy I hope they can go back to work and make Windows 10 better so that people will decide to upgrade to Windows 10 because it's good and not because they have been forced. Next they must admit the privacy intrusion of the OS and start fixing it. If you make a good product people will eventually upgrade but if you start doing such crazy things you will only end up making people hate it.

one mistake out of many , win 10 is the worst operating system they have ever made in my opinion , ive tried it my assesment is its designed for social media users and they harvest your data and details in the process , i like to control my pc and keep things simple i dont want my pc getting errors all the time ,or a pc stacked full of useless forced microsoft apps and software like cortana , theres no control on win 10,, i got win 7 pro 64 , win xp still going so win 7 be good for another 10 years , no win 7 i go linux rather than use w10

It is. And the OS is BY FAR the best they have made, and possibly the best one out there for "normal" or even developer use.
That was a major ****up and whoever decided this should be fired. Pushing your new stuff is ok (up to a limit), removing choice on the acquisition of a new product is just bad business.
I don't know why people can't reconcile in their heads that Windows 10 can both be the best Windows ever made, and at the same time have some really bad marketing behind them.
Some seem to equate marketing quality to product quality.

i dont think most people understand microsoft forced agenda with win 10 , the plans for win10 is to put it on household utilitys like fridges, showers ,so basically force in ito your home everyone needs a fridge and a shower and guess what it have win10 and cortana on it which means no escape , theres only two places where theres no camera watching you thats your home and your car , microsoft is gonna take over your home and google your car, i remeber when cctv cameras first appeared people were nervous but now few years on people dont care , cameras in peoples homes via cortana on your fridge and shower , very very scary

no facebook ,i dont use social media and my phone is an old basic nokia pay as you go , no internet or camera , but i can survive, now a fridge is different , no fridge be hard to survive noway to keep food fresh , so in the future if every fridge built has cortana built in , eventually its no escape from microsoft thats my point tricks to force upgrade from win 7 , put cortana on fridges they badly want win 10 in every household

I tried windows 10 when it first came out and it frustrated me so I uninstalled it....
2 weeks ago I installed it on a spare HD and it was a nice experience, it found all the drivers for things it could not find last year/ it even found a driver for an old wifi card and another newer long range wifi card that had no win10 support...
I like it now.

Worse os since win98 lol, I have to be manually disabling their stupid antivirus all day long because it interferes with my various script tools and makes my pc sluggish, and I have to clear memory manually before a few games so they won´t stutter (whiche were always fine on win7).
