Any thing that stimulates the brain like watching tv before bed time stimultes the brain which will cause sleep issues. Personally i think this theory of blue light is poppy cock.

Nice. The creator's upgrade will get a lot of small things like this too.

it work as intended to do...
just 2 point:
-most monitor have already this fonction, even low cost one...
-if you pass long time in front of the screen, what M$ will do against tea and coffee???
but yes it is in the right way 🙂

been using f.lux for years...Simple, fast, free...
Extraordinary
I have to leave something playing on a screen at night to have any chance at falling asleep at all, if I turn everything off and try to sleep my brain goes into overdrive and starts making me think about anything it can that makes me wake up, reminding me of arguments I had 10 years ago and stupid sh**
Leaving the telly on makes my eyes so tired I can't keep them open, and allows my brain to tune into the droning voice of whatever I'm watching and I'm out fairly quickly
Labyrinth
Flux already does this....
Hell my phone already does this with CF Lumen, late again Microsoft?

I'm going to go ahead and trust the scientists on this one. I've been using Flux on both my PC and Laptop and I personally think that it's helped me sleep better.
Well until you guys start producing papers like this:

I couldn't agree more. I've been using F.lux for years as well and its outstanding.
Its a very simple concept that various colors of light not just cause different sleep or behavior patterns, on a more basic level light that is more blue is more distracting. Many studies have been done in recent years looking into the color of automotive interior lighting and how they distract the driver, especially at night. They largely found Rod cells are less sensitive to long wavelength light, like reds, so if you were truely dark adapted (rod function only) red dash lights would be less interfering. So having interior lighting with a longer wavelength like reds/oranges is ideal for driver vision at night. This is one of the driving factors behind the dash illumination in both Audi and BMW vehicles.

Blue light like caffeine affects everyone differently. People have different tolerances to alcohol and the like. Even though it is fact, that fact is not consistent. Blue light, caffeine has no affect on my sleep habits or pattern. I can fall asleep without issue immediately after having several cups of coffee or tea. When tired, not even my monitor has the ability to keep me awake. My body knows when it is 23:00. I do not fight it and listen. Other concerns keep me awake or make it a wrestles night. So for me it is poppy cock. Some friends on the other hand, not so fortunate. Everyone needs to know their limitations and act accordingly. This at least allows those affected to have their cake and eat it too. For them it is a win, win.

Meanwhile I'm colorblind and all this barely affects me.
I happen to differentiate better between blue colors then red/green. So for me it's a choice between: worse sight or blue light :x

I would think Windows 10 has MUCH more important problems for them to be working on rather than this...then again I fell asleep during a Black Sabbath concert (true story) back in 1979-80 or so, so I don't think 'blue light' is a big concern for me.

A truly nice feature... I hate everything that emits light. No monitor, no mice, no keyobards no cases. At long last.

Would need to check but I am sure my glasses have had this feature as part of the lenses for the last 5 years.

I go to sleep with that on in my room. Guess blue light doesn't affect me much
