I'm OK with that, no problem for me to wait that "long" and finally make jump from Win7 SP1 x64 to something newer. At the moment when Win10 arrives Win7 will be almost 6 years old, it's about time for me to move on. ATM Win 7 is doing it's job perfectly for all my needs on every rig I have, haven't found anything worth in Win8/8.1 to jump into that waggon so l'll be waiting patiently for Win10 x64 with hope that it will be enough polished from day one like Win7 was backthen in the end of 2009.

I'm a bit worried though because we all know even number Windows has always been bad.
Maybe they should of just jumped to Windows 11, or since this is to be the very last ever Windows they should just call it Windows or Windows One.

ITT: "No point in upgrading from 7 to 8.1. If I don't like this one feature the entire OS is crap." (this argument must be circlejerked in every case that one of these threads show up).
8.1 is nothing like Vista, faster and cleaner than all of its predecessors. :infinity:

im actually kind of desperate for it, if it lives up to what they promised, it will be the "3 screens 1 cloud" vision at last, I hope they include Kinect support, and if they proceed with the new unified naming, it means phones with windows 10 better be near damn perfection if they don't want to lose the little faith people still have in it, now everything is at risk, even the xbox is involved, windows 10 has to deliver

I upgraded from Win7 to Win8 simply because it lacked a start menu....and that 1 feature is the deciding factor on me upgrading to Win10. If I'm forced to use it at any time, I'm likely not downgrading....err, I mean "upgrading".... (personally I never found going backwards to be an "upgrade" to any extent....) Of course, if there's even more "cloud integration" I'm even less likely to buy into it. I just went through a bunch of **** with MS over my Microsoft account because I changed 1 "security" setting and got locked out of my account.....also locked me out of my Lumia 635 when I had to do a factory reset on it...
