RTM can be sooner :P

I'm OK with that, no problem for me to wait that "long" and finally make jump from Win7 SP1 x64 to something newer. At the moment when Win10 arrives Win7 will be almost 6 years old, it's about time for me to move on. ATM Win 7 is doing it's job perfectly for all my needs on every rig I have, haven't found anything worth in Win8/8.1 to jump into that waggon so l'll be waiting patiently for Win10 x64 with hope that it will be enough polished from day one like Win7 was backthen in the end of 2009.

To be perfectly honest I wouldn't have made the jump to 8 if they hadn't offered it so cheap at first.I really don't see that much difference other than UI .

RTM for windows 8 was a little over a month before official release. I'm pretty sure it'll be the same for 10

As someone who hates Windows in general, I thought W8 was actually pretty good. Had some questionable decisions (which is typical of MS) but there are some things it definitely did right, such as the new Task Manager. @CrazY_Milojko: No point in upgrading if you don't need to. The only reason I'm using Windows 8.1 right now is because I got a license for it from a laptop I bought (then replaced Windows on the laptop), and I figured I might as well use it. Otherwise, since I only use Windows for gaming, I'd have just stuck with W7. If you don't have a DX12 compatible GPU, might as well use W7 while you still can.

I can't say I hate Windows 8/8.1, just didn't found anything special about it to make transition (and waste my precious time) from Win 7 SP1 x64 to Win 8/8.1 x64. Why bother with Win8, waste time and money when Win7 is doing it's job perfectly fine for me at home and office. As a matter of fact I'm building new HTPC atm from the scratch for my living room with huge LCD TV and I'm going to install Win8.1 Pro x64 on that HTPC, but I'm using Win8.1 Pro x64 just because right now I can get licence at reasonable price. All my gaming & HTPC rigs at home are on Win7 SP1 x64 and I (can't explain that) need something different this time for this new HTPC to stand out in dozen of rigs at my home with same OS for all these years. After Win10 release I'm 100% sure I'm going to give that Win8 HTPC to my parents and build myself a new Win10 based HTPC.

I just need a small change to something new, I'm looking on Win10 as a refreshment from atm 5.5 years under same OS (it will be 6 years when final build Win10 arrives). Most of my rigs at home and office are going to use Win7 for years that comes after Win10 release, probably just my kids gaming rigs are going to make transition to Win10 in late 2015, early 2016 or 2017.

I'm a bit worried though because we all know even number Windows has always been bad. Maybe they should of just jumped to Windows 11, or since this is to be the very last ever Windows they should just call it Windows or Windows One.

They can't call it Windows One because Bill Gates introduced Windows One donkey years ago... Windows 10 is fine, and dropping the "phone" from "Windows Phone 10" is another good step forwards.

Oh I actually agree that 8 is better but not deal breaking must have better as 7 did everything I need it to do.When 10 comes out unless it's either a free upgrade or another cheap upgrade I'll probably hang on for a bit until I have to upgrade.

ITT: "No point in upgrading from 7 to 8.1. If I don't like this one feature the entire OS is crap." (this argument must be circlejerked in every case that one of these threads show up). 8.1 is nothing like Vista, faster and cleaner than all of its predecessors. :infinity:

im actually kind of desperate for it, if it lives up to what they promised, it will be the "3 screens 1 cloud" vision at last, I hope they include Kinect support, and if they proceed with the new unified naming, it means phones with windows 10 better be near damn perfection if they don't want to lose the little faith people still have in it, now everything is at risk, even the xbox is involved, windows 10 has to deliver

I upgraded from Win7 to Win8 simply because it lacked a start menu....and that 1 feature is the deciding factor on me upgrading to Win10. If I'm forced to use it at any time, I'm likely not downgrading....err, I mean "upgrading".... (personally I never found going backwards to be an "upgrade" to any extent....) Of course, if there's even more "cloud integration" I'm even less likely to buy into it. I just went through a bunch of **** with MS over my Microsoft account because I changed 1 "security" setting and got locked out of my account.....also locked me out of my Lumia 635 when I had to do a factory reset on it...
