Yeah, and the reason is they use Internet explorer internally. Oh, the memes...

Yeah... the memes, at first I wondered what win version was released in 2004, turns out none so far... Still contemplating if keeping win10 over various versions will be the last windows we ever get since... why not name it "windows" only then? 😀 But who cares, build number usually says enough.

So why not call it 20H1 and 20H2? As I understand 03 (or now 04) meant MS trying to launch the update in March, but it always gets delayed until summer anyway.

"The name and numbering have been slightly altered to prevent confusion...." Now, this is the JOKE of the YEAR. Hilbert, you are not only the owner and the admin of this excellent site - you are our true Master and Commander!:)

It's english-only. Non-english people won't understand it. And it's not a decimal digital. There could be a lot of code made in mind that version number is a decimal digit.

It's gonna be the 9th major update? Any sane person would have just called it Windows 10 Update 9.

Because it is already used in the Insider ring for XBox and Windows... and anyway it's just the name of the build that would be similar to an old version of the OS, it's not so important.

Both windows update 1903 and 1909 broke my LAN and NVME drivers, forced to rollback because can't find solution until now...

@phoenixdot yes and no. i had lots of trouble too, after i installed it thru win update. went back and restored to a previous image, and used the iso to do offline install. and no problems since and fixed the issues i had (mouse lag/stutter when transferring data over usb, cpu load never dropping below 2% when idle on desktop)
