What about windows 10 being the final windows?

Windows that requires an internet bound account to "sign in"... aka "use" is a Windows I will not use for any reason ever.

...the only reason I can fathom for this, would be a recruitment drive of some kind?

You have Windows 11 too, it is better with Linux, and faster than W10 And once you bypass CPUCheck TPMCCheck SecureBootCheck in the install it can even install on 775 with your legit licence.

The problem with it might be the Micro$oft chip that might be on motherboard, so new expensive PC to use it... The good point is that, like W11, it will make fresh blood in the Linux comunity 🙂 .

With extra bugs, bloatware and spyware.

There will be a way to make it clean, like the other... just a question of time.

More likely just a continuation of 11 developing. Someone hoping to generate clicks called it 12. Doubt anyone at MS would even ponder calling it 12 this early on.

Completely new substructure, nothing from other OS... Bugs... Lots of bugs!

As far as I understand, Microsoft never said Windows 10 was going to be "the last version". It was an interpretation by online media that Microsoft conveniently never corrected. Common practice actually (No Man's sky was a great example of it). However, Microsoft starting development of Win12 when Win11 has not even properly launched is... scary. Win11 has been mentioned to have issues. Win10 had issues for a while as well. So now we are ... what? updating Win10, fixing and updating Win11 and starting Win12? That sounds like mobile gaming not an OS.

Okey, so that means Win 11 is the one to skip.. like ME, Vista and 8/8.1 ?

Why?
Because Win11's UI is garbage and MS can't afford to admit it.

I think we are going to see MS trend towards rolling out Windows versions more often. Lots to $$ to be made, especially with businesses.

W11 isn't halfway done, feel like a beta of what would eventually be W10. It is also a solid NO for me about theses subscription OS and softwares.

Not agree with that, it take a lot of good point from other OS, but windows user doesn't like the change even if not logic (like the close computer clicking on "start" then more click lol). The main bad point of the UI is that one can't fit all and you can't change it... (there is a subject about this point on M$ dev group)
