Yuck, gross. MS is pushing towards this model of no perpetual licensing for anything, ever. You buy a copy of Windows 10 and you don't "own" it, but you do own the license that allows you to continue using it in perpetuity. MS would much rather have this cloud model, where access to your OS, software, and files is dependent upon the money continuing to flow. I'll say it again, gross.

You will own nothing and you'll be happy. SaaS has benefits, it's beyond the point of discussing it further. But there must be a line, not to be crossed.

The wind has been blowing that way for a while now. In the past I made some jokes about Windows becoming a pure "cloud service" that you can't buy anymore. That joke will probably become hard reality at some point.

I like this idea, however i want to see the difference in pricing with configurations first. This could save tons of $$$ for companies in theory.
