I saw this yesterday and was intrigued, but does anyone know what the Nvidia GPU will be? I imagine a low power unit, but which one would make a big difference to anyone interested in gaming capability. For myself I'm most interested in seeing how much the price on the Surface Pro 3 drops. 🤓

The new GPU is a Maxwell based GPU with GDDR5 memory http://www.pcper.com/news/Mobile/Microsoft-Surface-Book-2-1-Skylake-NVIDIA-Discrete-GPU-Announced No idea which one though, but it has 1GB vRAM

I find it really strange that you can pre-order it without even knowing the GPU that's in it. That being said I shelled out $1200 for a SP4 with the new type cover. I couldn't justify the additional cost for the book.

As a happy user of first Surface Pro, this seems like a really good machine. Perhaps getting a bit too large ? This would be very tempting if I needed a laptop with more power than that first gen Surface Pro.

This laptop looks outstanding. I'd suggest you look at it in some store. It's bigger, but it's very light for its size. If you still consider it too bulky, perhaps new Surface 4 will be more suitable.
