some companies abused the unlimited OneDrive storage, according to the software giant
So if you take them up on the offer of "unlimited storage", then it's abuse? In which universe exactly does that make sense?

None, but it's common in this one. Companies often advertise many things as unlimited, but have fine print stating that if you actually use a lot it's considered abuse, and you'll be punished/throttled. If they don't, they add the fine print later and punish you anyway. My phone's data is "unlimited", but if I use more than 2 measly GB in a month I get throttled to speeds of a few kilobytes a second, I'm talking single digit kilobytes.

This is why I wont let my plan go on my phone. Its truly unlimited. Ive used 160gb before. And on my step sons line its 2GB, after that its throttled to 3g speeds instead of 2g!!!! Still able to stream 480p video no issue with 1.5mb actually. I have not done One drive. But have thought about using the 1TB for back up of my server. Not the games but the important stuff that is backed up on the server. But not sure about how to encrypt the bill stuff recipts etc.

I stopped my use of onedrive when they cut the free storage from 15GB to a mere 5GB. That was pathetic. I do have 30GB but I can't trust them. I hope nobody bought into O365 because of 1d.

One of the crucial tricks that big companies had introduced long ago in the contracts which accompany different industry products is the so-called "subject to change without prior notice". In software there is also an "as is basis". These allow companies to act like thieves (which they really are) and to get away with it. Think about this: you cannot pay them with the banknotes that in a few days will be found to be forged/counterfeited (which would've been YOUR right on "subject" - oops, dear company, the money I payed you suddenly changed and have become a worthless pile of toilet paper... But, you know what, dear company, you took it as is, so keep it like that...). And the big brother bill & the gang are the perfect example of The Company.
