No Windows 8.1 love?
Microsoft being Microsoft.
I can totally understand no more support for 7, but 8.1 is not EOL.
Or am I missing something?

Are those update permanent?
If i update the microcode of a cpu using windows, then i move the cpu in another computer, that cpu is still updated right?

One thing I'm finding a little weird is how there's not much mention at all about the Intel GPU vulnerabilities in Windows. Perhaps there aren't any, but I find it weird how that could be OS-specific. The mitigations resulted in a devastating performance blow in Linux, but, I'm not sure if it was a Linux-only problem. Intel has recently released another patch that fixes most of that performance loss, though I don't yet know how bad it currently stands.

What it does is updates mcupdate_genuineintel.dll which is loaded and reinits patchable area's of the cpu if newer during the transition from real to protected or long modes.

but those patchable areas, once patched are patched.

I'll decline the offer, my CPU has been crippled enough by now.
